From Tribunal Rules:
E)
INJURY
The MRP and the Tribunal can inquire and receive information as to the nature
and extent of any injury suffered by a Player in relation to a Reportable Offence

The nature and extent of injury may be a relevant factor in determining the level
of Impact, Contact and in some instances, the nature of the Conduct
 Clubs must
provide a medical report within three hours of a request to do so

Interesting the last point. I would think that it could be only done with the explicit permission of the player who was injured. Patient confidentiality is not at the beck and call of the AFL.

You cant be a registered player unless you agree to abide by the AFL Tribunal rules and in the same way a clyb must also agree to abide by the AFL Tribunal rules.

And in this case the club docker gave evidence and provided all the medical reports, including the fact that the victims teeth are unlikely to re root , meaning false teeth in future and that they were pushed back 2 cm by the blow.

Bazza as you are aware a clause in a contract is not enforceable if it is against the law.

The tribunal panel have handed down their verdict on what to many on here and the broader community has been a very emotive issue.

Whether you agree with the outcome or not it’s time to move on and fill your minds with more positive thoughts.
Have a great day one and all.

There is nothing unlawful about it.

I think that the Brayshaw family have shown their class in all this by reaching out to Gaff and showing him some empathy. Good people sometimes do bad things.

Good people sometimes have accidents more like it.
If William Tell misses the apple and puts the arrow in the guys forehead is he a murderer or just a shithouse shot?

This is not the point. It was no accident. I have no doubt that Gaff did not intend to hit Brayshaw on the head but the point is that nobody should be throwing punches with that sort of force on a football field, or anywhere for that matter. Im sure many people who have killed others with one punch attacks did not "intend" to hurt their victim so badly that their life would be at risk but they have to live with the consequences of their actions

It was a round arm, no cocked elbow, I would not even call it a punch, 100's happen each week in the AFL. I know its the first motion i use when I tackle someone in an attempt to dislodge the ball and slow the person with the ball down a little.
Had Gaff done it head height then its a dog act. Fact is Gaff swung below shoulder height plain to see in the vision. Unfortunately Brayshaw who is a couple centimetres taller than Gaff was too concerned about blocking Gaffs run, made a sharp side step, lowered his body considerably and copped it in the face.

I can tell you right now what is going to happen that will change the game forever...... 4 field umpires, umpires will now call the negating tactics of taggers who block the run of the better players.

Spot on Mikeh.
Gaff will do his time whether we like the length of it or not.
Mark Brayshaw and his family have shown a lot of class.

One mistake does not make Gaff a bad person.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.
Winning isn't everything. It's the ONLY THING !!!!!!
I shot the fukin sherriff!!!!

Garbage. Ask Brayshaw if he thought it was a punch or not
