Anch: perhaps I should have said 'largelly spurious' reason; it is much easier to hide him in test cricket. The question of Wade is an interstting one, especially as he has basically failled in the specialist position of wicket keeper. But why do they continue to pick him? I think it is because of the fact that you suggestted: he is the best we have got. Well, the same applies to Usman in the middle order, he is the best we have got, certainlly in the tour squad, whatever his limitations in the filed. What is good for one should be good for the other and Lehamann should keep it mind.

Mitch Marsh is actually a very good fieldsman so maybe that's why he has been in the team so long

BH I believe you will find Paine is playing in this shield match and also played in the last match.

Khawaja for me....he was the third top run scorer over the summer v SA and Pakistan for Aus....yeah he had a nightmare in Sri Lanka....but if M Marsh has had a nightmare in most venues around the world and gets a second chance....surely Usman deserves one?....yeah I know his fielding isn't much chop Anchor, but hey he could easily be the sweeper in the deep eh?....also Maxwell and Wade will have another spat over who bats number 6.....

agree freez...whilst each pitch should be assessed individually the fact that Marsh has hardly been bowled suggests to me another specialist batsman is the way to go.

Surely has to happen. No worth in an all rounder who doesn't get used with the ball much and makes bugger all with the bat.

News just in is that Mitch Marsh has a shoulder injury and will be coming home from India.
