We are so poorly served by both sides of politics, that's why in recent years so many have moved to the indo's, I'm not a believer in that as they are only spoilers at best and down right destructive at worst. Hopefully WA voters are smart enough to see through Hanson and her divisive politics, anyone who idolizes Trumpet needs to be avoided.

The libs will spruik all the infrastructure that has been or is being built, but will cop it for the defecit that has been created along the way .... drop in commodity prices ...... getting royally screwed out of our GST by the Feds ..... fiscal mismanagement, the last one is the only one that Lab can run on as the others are out of any state governments hands.

McGowen still has an image problem, he's a bit of a charisma free zone but a solid consistent well planned and targeted campaign should see them win or go very very close. I have a problem with the fact that they are already campaigning which I think is a big mistake. Voters will start to switch off from their message due to campaign fatigue, both sides should focus all their money and efforts in the last 2 weeks of the campaign as that's when most voters will solidify their decisions, a slick well funded libs campaign could still see them hold onto power. In saying that lab will not want for funds with the unions pouring big buckets of money into their camp.

As for broken campaign promises, neither side holds the moral ground in that area ..... whats the quote ... how do you know when a pollie is lieing - if his lips are moving, that applies to both sides.

Nah I reckon Barney is cactus, you only have to look at the wild swing in Qld last time around, Newman had a majority of 20 or so and lost the lost, Barney has 10 and Newman didn't have to fight the Hanson factor.

The sooner the smile is wiped off that smug pricks face the better. Can't wait to see his concession speech after he's had his ass kicked and the fallout that follows. And his son is a further embarrassment to the state. No surprise really a chip off the old block.

He ain't in Parliament.Just so long as the Media doesn't try and tie him in as a Window dresser for Col's image,....

The thing about Elections in the past 5 - 10 years that drives me stark raving,is the endless weeks and months political parties do go on and campaign, then a week or so out, they give their official launch.

Wtf?Has that practice been a long standing one,or is this a new trend(of them patting themselves on the back)?

There is a simple explanation for the lateness of the official launch dates. Up to that point in time the parties do not have to pay for the travel.

As for Emperor Barnett's disgraceful comments that Pauline Hanson has changed from the first version of One Nation. She was a racist then and she is a racist now.

How about to paraphrase:

One Nation version 1: Australia is being overrun by Asians.

One Nation version 2: Australia is being overrun by Muslims.

neither Clinton, nor Trump are not left-wing, goodness me. Curtin and Attlee were left-wing and believed in principles, such as,

government intervention
welfare state
restrictions on trade
the gold standard
sensible defence and foreign polices --- Attlee and Bevin founded NATO dragging the yanks with them
immigration restrictions

if the left returns to those principles it will have a hope of winning elections in the future; failure to do so will mean defeat is heapped upon defeat after defeat. Today the British labour party is discussing the very issue of immigration restrictions, because, as most of us know, they are in big trouble.
