Ted Nugent wrote: Thanks for clearing things up, Ti Em - you are dense. And you're no better KCEF. There is nothing unusual about players being cleared, provided the clubs come to terms. Usually when a player is cleared it is because he is not getting league games at his original club. Give me an example of when a contracted top tier player at one club has been cleared to another in exchange for a standard transfer fee and a couple of reserves players?

And this coming from someone who probably thinks Mineral Resources is a desirable place for a footballer. Where is the regard for the players well being from Perth in all of this? and after all he has given you - the blood sweat and tears (plenty of the later). The petulance can't be helped i guess - but for the pigheadedness long may your drought continue.

Ted, these EF scribes don’t want to know or talk about the reality of contracts.
They just want to persist with piss taking and put down disguised as friendly banter.
And they cannot even do that very well.
Best we treat them the contempt they so richly deserve and just ignore them.

If the player does not turn up then it appears that the contract is not worth the paper it is written on.

Smokey, the lack of perspective on the wider importance of contracts is staggering. To try to explain for the umpteenth time, contracts benefit both player and club. They sit down, on equal footing, and reach an agreement. The player can have a manager or other representative. Perth, along with every club, has people who work very hard to sign players to contracts because that allows certainty in planning for the future and determining what sort of recruits should be targeted. If a player is allowed to break his contract on the cusp of the season, it is difficult to replace him. Especially when he is a 1 point player and a club may need to find a 7-10 point player as a replacement. It this so hard to understand?

Ted I’d be interested to know if Paul Peos was Cody’s manager when he signed his contract with us or is that another thing EF have organised for a contracted player at another club???
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Not at all Ted…. but
What is coming off the wire from those EF boys is mind boggling.
I know a lot of it is a piss-take yet most of it is just pure ignorance.

I wish you Perth boys actually knew something concrete bar "he is a contracted player"....we all know he is....yet here we are heading into Feb and the saga rolls on....obviously Buffalo Bobby ain't telling you guys the full story, if he had done his job properly he should of nipped this in the bud back in November....yet here we are late Jan...EF must fancy their chances here of a positive result....why is that?....doesn't make sense....why would Buffalo Bill be wasting his time if it was so cut n dry....what in fark did Perth do to make Leggett jump ship?

Not at all. We all understand contracts. However in all walks of life, including football, contracts are terminated and at times people also walk away from their contract. There are processes when there has been a breach of contract and any penalties can be determined by various appeals bodies. In Legget's case it will be determined by the WAFL Arbitrator.

Following that process the Arbitrator will determine whether he remains contracted to Perth or whether he is released from his contract.

Whatever happens I guess we will have to await the outcome of this process.

I am sure Subi will be watching this closely and keeping an eye on the supposed reasons EF believe a contracted player can leave his club.
It will be open slather for them if the WAFC agrees to clear him
