Like it was at Subi oval (as it would be for most clubs)we lease the land off Vincent Council but all the buildings are owned and were totally funded by the club. I understand it ran to around $1.7 mill including reno's in/under the old stand to upgrade changerooms, medical and meeting rooms.

I never had an issue with Eas Purf being given the refurbished old West Perth social rooms (still have a laugh that of all clubs, EP are in Joondy's old rooms) they were turfed out of Lotons to make way for the Soccer & Rugby.

Subi saw the writing on the wall and chose to make the move before being forced out at the end of the lease and Leederville was the best option after Claremont Council refused a joint tenancy with the Tiges at CL oval which should have been the natural place for the 2 western suburbs teams to reside. The other option was Kingsway but the lack of infrastructure made it twice as costly to move out there as it was to Leederville. I'm biased like all club supporters but I think Leedo is a great venue with the big carpark at the top of the oval and right in a commercial area so plenty of bars and cafes to go pre & post game, has lights for night footy(just) and of course the worst scoreboard in the history of sport.

Anyone go to the intra club? Good to see that Stevo was out there. How did Liam Ryan go? Creeper vs Dela?

Custodian asked the question on the Gummies site if Liam has been cleared by the Gummies yet? I assume if not yet cleared he has been given permission to train with us, would need to be cleared before playing an interclub scratchy I guess. He and the ex EP & NT thunder lad should add some much needed pace to the team and help with some goal scoring potential which would have taken a beating with the loss of Grimley who we would have expected to be at least a 60 - 70 goal player.

Great to hear Bestry is continuing as our stocks of ruckmen are a bit thing again with Stockley pulling the pin, would like to see he and Madut be able to hold down the ruck so Dela and Clang can play forward & key position. Clanger is the best utility player in the league, had a great season last year and was player of the finals, super important player for us.

agree with your comments on clanger SS..I thought it was a toss up between Lockyer and clanger for our most important player last year...not necessarily our best player but most important.

Thanks fellas yes we should be in for a few speccys this year with Ryan & Broughton running around. Best news for me is that Stevo is good to go, he is actually not a bad ff, he was causing headaches for the opposition at ff early in his last game before he did his knee. Good forward & back...

So what do the childish $cumiaco go and do? ...put in a ridiculous compensation claim to the WAFC to replace a Victorian who never played a game for them ludicrously demanding an out of zone country player that the WAFC have quite correctly determined with a stern fark off!! :)
Keep those gems coming Swan Stalker

Read the article BH, where does it say anywhere that we demanded a player, it states we "sought approval" to recruit a replacement for Grimley and that the "WAFC rejected the request" simple as that. Why do you need to embellish and misrepresent the article with expressions like "ludicrously demanding" and "a stern fark off"

Subi are entitled to make such a request and the WAFC are entitled to reject it. I'm sure Crowley is not a Swans district player but that didn't prevent your mob demanding ... sorry requesting monetary compensation. Go back and read the relevant posts on the Swans thread and aquaint yourself with the vitriolic language used regarding the loss of Crowley.
