My understanding is that it is a recommendation, not an order.

Scott Morrison said the Government would be recommending all non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people should be cancelled, starting Monday.

I doubt that Morrison has the authority to issue such an order, as it is surely a state power. No doubt the states will follow the recommendation.

That's only a recommendation so far Baz by Australia's chief medical officer and I think each state can make it's own judgement calls. ie at this stage tonight's Wildcats v Kings SF #2 is going ahead at RAC Arena.

Game did go ahead but to an empty stadium and the cats got done badly.

Just posing a question perhaps Freezin and others who might work in the medical field. What would be a ball park figure how many people who attend a football match with 50,000 in attendance end up coming down with something soon after?

Flu, cold, runny nose, sore throat, gastro, stomach bug? I'd be surprised if there were any less than 200 end up catching something. I just wonder if this panic about mass gatherings is an overreaction?
