Dempsey, surely that mortality rate you speak of 3.4% is merely number of deaths from confirmed cases of Corona Virus from the WHO? Read an article where Senior Medical Advisors from the UK and US belueved, that the WHO haven't included the many milder cases of undetected Corona Virus, that don't reach or need hospital care, thus diluting that WHO mortality rate to around 1%...statistically on par with the Influenza Virus.

I guess in time, the data will reveal more to say whether the hysteria over the Corona Virus is warranted or not. Hopefully the latter, but hopefully awareness on the importance of diligent hand hygiene, proper sneezing and coughing protective measures, isolating oneself when symptomatic and keeping a closer eye of vulnerable populations like the elderly, children and chronic diseases will ensure the safety for many in the future.

I would have thought that’s no different to any other cold or flu Freezin. We don’t all rush to the doctor every time we sneeze, have a cough or get a sore throat. Even have a fever most of us will give it a couple of days to see if it passes.

Interesting to see ScoMo pledging 10 billion dollars for 100 pop up virus clinics to facilitate corona virus testing.....if the COVID hotlines are in meltdown, I'd hate to be working in one of these pop up clinics then...the queues will be very very lengthy me thinks....more so after Dempsey's informative 9 point post.

DD, folk will certainly rush in now to see if their cough, sneeze, sore throat and fever is the dreaded corona virus...the Southern hemisphere hasn't had their 'flu' winter season yet..gonna be interesting when it does....can see many acute and primary care providers being being over run with folk seeking reassurance more so than treatment...grid locking healthcare provision at the coal face.....sadly at the expense of those people in need of treatment instead of reassurance.

According to Trumpy’s announcement the WHO have declared Covid19 a pandemic but I haven’t read that anywhere else yet.

And in a link to that story a person has tested positive after attending a music festival SW of Melbourne. I’d say this will trigger the AFL and other large events to ban crowds attending. Surely the Olympic Games has to be called off now.

What will this mean for AFL clubs finances? I imagine club members will demand a refund on their tickets/memberships if they can’t attend.

The most stupid thing about that is WTF has dunny rolls got to with the treatment or symptoms of Covid 19? Absolutely nothing but because dumb cunts have been stock piling them it’s a problem that feeds itself where there is just this insane panic buying of toilet paper for absolutely no reason except there is a shortage so when it becomes available everyone wants to buy the maximum.
