I think you have lost the plot Dwert but you have probably achieved your aim and that is to derail a topic about the voice. Obviously you are upset, poor princess and keyboard warrior. You are so far off the mark it's not funny.

Agreed TFF ...I think we all know each others views on this subject so not sure what good will come from bashing it and each other to death.  What did make me sit up and take notice was DD mentioning he drives a cab.  You must have seen some strange shit over the years DD which could make an interesting separate thread on the bizarre things we've all seen over the journey of life given there's not much happening in regards to footy at the moment..

I worked in a branch of law enforcement for 20 years and certainly have some stories to tell, so happy to share on a no names basis if others thought it a worthwhile topic.
 

                I think it would make an interesting new topic.  Most of us would have experienced the highs, lows, good times to bad and everything in between.

I see the indigenous people are getting a $180 million payout for unpaid work back in the day, then I saw a show on the box about how asian and other immigrants were working bs long hours with little to no pay in fucked conditions, also back in the day. I wasn't going to bother to reply to Dwert but well said DG. The most powerful box to tick in this country is the one beginning with "Do you identify yourself as ........." If you can tick yes on that box that buys you a lot of priveleges.

Under white man's rules I was not allowed to be held and breast fed by my own mother and not allowed to be raised by my own biological parents because they didn't marry.

Am I allowed to say I am from a stolen generation? Or because I am caucasian I will always be considered priveleged no matter what?

My wife and I have a friend who is 1/16th Aboriginal by birth and her sister likewise. The sister has 2 sons who are sparkies and given their father is a white fella, they are 1/32nd or 3% Indigenous. Based on that, they have registered as an Indigenous business and get all sorts of benefits including preferential treatment when tendering for government contracts and so on.

Good for them I say, as they're killing the pig if you'll excuse the pun, but it just goes to show how distorted this whole First Nations thing has become in recent years. More than happy to give Indigenous folk a leg up to be self-sustaining and successful, but 3%???? They don't even relate to being indigenous, just see it as an opportunity to make big $.
