Interesting Roman on the capacity..I thought it should of been the same as VFL  Park Waverly,70,000..
 

Problem with that is attendances at most home
And away games are actually pretty ordinary
The dockers are battling to half fill it most games.

Agree, thought from the start 60 thousand was far too small, Eagles still have a membership waiting list.
Simple solution is rip out ten thousand seats and make it twenty thousand standing room. Believe it or not some people including myself actually prefer to stand.

I'm with you, I much prefer to stand a lot of the time, it was refreshing to see Optus at least install some standing areas under the scoreboards and around the walk ways, but as you say you could fit a lot more in.

Theres more chance of me winning first division lotto than all 24,000 of those tickets being genuine perth based supporters of either clubs.

Scalpers are alive and well, having paid for bar codes in Victoria snapped up as many tickets as they could, in less than an hour they were on GumTree up for sale, apparently some adds have been removed via consumer protection.

 

The ticket issue is no different to every year it’s been held at the MCG. 

People have always passed on their member  barcodes or sold off their tickets if they don’t want to attend. 

The few times I’ve been to the GF, we’ve purchased our tickets from AFL players who didn’t make the GF and didn’t want to go watch the game. 

Thats ok for GF's at the G, but this is a one off event that should have been for the average WA tax payers who own the stadium. Dont care about the clubs allocations as all will be WA punters but the 27k set aside for the wealthy and hangers on is preventing many from getting this once in a lifetime opportunity to see an AFL GF for as little as $187, not the several grand it costs to get a flight, accommodation and a ticket to a Melbourne GF, thats the domain of the more well to do who can do it any other year.

well looks like I'll be missing out. Just logged on about 2 minutes before 10 am and it said Join the Queue. Never seen that before. About a minute later it said I was 56,109 in the queue. No chance of getting a ticket. Has anyone seen that before? I was online yesterday at the same time thinking the tickets went on sale yesterday and I didn't see any Join the Queue prompt or warning about when that opens.

SOLD OUT!!! Damn it.

I got right down in the queue to the chose your tickets part, then it said sorry those tickets are unavailable choose another event or date, kents!
