What's the election result got to do with anything and in particular vaccine use? I've moved on from the election and time you did too.
Have a look at this topic's title!

With respect to the vaccine rollout how many different position has the federal government had on the AZ vaccine in the past 4-6 weeks?
The title of this thread has nothing to do with the election and I'm at a loss to understand how you draw the connection.  It's about Cook's inept performance across the entire health spectrum including ramping, code yellows, ambulance attendance times, health professional's morale, deferring elective surgeries and so on.  If any other Minister delivered a similar result, he/she's feet wouldn't touch the ground.  It's only because he has the support of a key union that he continues in the job.

As everybody knows the initial advice was that if our hospitals were given time to set up and we locked down in the initial stage, we would be able to limit the spread of the virus.

During this time all states would increase their medical capacity to deal with the cases that might be forthcoming.

No states have adopted measures to properly ensure that adequate measures by way of vaccinations have been put in place despite having nearly 18 month's lead in time.

In nearly all states the only response is "close the borders" rather then put the pressure on those who either refuse or are reluctant to have the jab.

It is also important to understand that even with the new super spreader variants of Covid, whilst positive cases continue to occur there has been a dramatic reduction in deaths and serious hospitalisations all across the developed countries of the world. I exclude India and some obvious third world countries in that analysis.

We need a Covid passport that allows all those who have received the vaccinations to go about their normal business. If you refuse to receive the injection then as far as I am concerned you can self-isolate and cut yourself off from the real world.

In WA the nonsense from McGowan about lack of availability is simply not true!

I know a doctor in one of the big CBD vaccinations clinics and they are sitting around on their arse waiting for people to make appointments.

When I called up to have my first injection a few weeks ago I though I would have to wait weeks. Instead I was given a choice to come in that day or early the following week. I was even given a range of times to choose from.

Even after cancelling my first appointment due to illness I still got in a one days notice.

Apart from killing confidence and ruining small business "Lock Outs" are not the answer. Increasing rates of immunity are the answer. Let us stop the nonsense and take some personal responsibility!
Spot on and these Premiers McGowan and Anastasia Powerplay and I think it was the Sydney health chief need their arses kicked for undermining the Prime Minister and federal government for coming out and saying the opposite about the availability of Astrazeneca for anyone and agreeing to underwrite any indemnity for GP's. News started breaking that "millenials" were jumping at the chance to get the Astrazeneca vaccine after first consulting their doctor yet these CLOWNS come out and say DON'T DO IT.

Yet it is these same clowns who tell us until a much higher percentage of the population get vaccinated then lock downs is the only option. Bali and Phuket will soon be open to international travelers and probably Singapore. If the federal government says if you are fully vaccinated then you can travel to certain overseas destinations with a suitable high rate of full vaccination without having to quarantine when you return then they will struggle to keep up with the demand for vaccines.

Our vaccination rates are appalling and that needs to change. We just have to shut up these scare mongers who believe in fairy dust zero risk. It doesn't exist. Look at the back of a packet of Asprins, there are warnings of the health risks!!

Spot on and when McGhoo joins $$Whyatt$$ at Rio or Woodside as he surely will, Cook goes direct to the top job.

Bazza had my first one today was the AZ one which is not by choice but hey what is I could have so ..... . I did not what it but that is down to my being an anglophobe nothing more or less.

As for the commentary earlier abt some places having plenty yep in the CBD they probably would have but others paces are struggling and that is down to a number of issues.

AS for the criticism of the PR man well there would have been a time when respect for the office would have prevented it but a series of numpty's in the office has eroded and respect for that let alone the man. Add to that the confusing messages abt which one is best or not just means Experts will have differing opinions and provide differeng advice.

Congratulations Minister Cook. You now hold the dubious honour of being the Minister responsible for the highest level of ramping ever recorded with 5,246 hours in the month of June.  You must be so proud.
