Simple, they should have closed the border to NSW at least a week earlier to only people returning home but requiring them to self isolate for 14 days.

Thanks for clearing that up Grump. So it's NSW's fault for a WA woman being allowed to come back into WA infected even though WA Health officials and Cooked knew of the situation in Sydney.
Simply put yes cos Mary should have gone into lockdown and been honest with the rest of the country, that is what is required and should have happened, why is it that the other states are only now reacting, try looking that the WHOLE picture not the hole!

Yep McGoo should have reacted earlier but perhaps he is tired of all and sundry dumping on him for doing so, he advised Mary to go to a 3 day lockdown like, we did and Vic , QLD have!

If he had what would have yours and the Cottesloes kids reaction been then!

The difference this time Grump is this new Delta strain. There has been months of evidence from around the globe about its transmission rate and stronger symptoms so as soon as it was confirmed there was an outbreak of the Delta strain, bang slam the door shut and 14 days should have been mandatory from the get go.

Other strains you could control it with some restrictions and good contact tracing. This one spreads like wildfire. It's different.

Interesting that WA has the lowest usage rate of distributed vaccines in 78%. It means 1 in 5 vaccines rolled out by the federal government isn't being used here in WA. NSW tops the list with 98%. IMO it's a bit rich for McGoo to sook about the roll out rate when he's not using all that is given to him in the first place.

Lies, damn lies and then statistics.  98% is a meaningless statistic unless one also knows the number that represents.  And of course it completely ignore the geographical challenges there are in WA that are not there in NSW.  But why let facts get in the way when it is time to sook about the last state's election result?

What's the election result got to do with anything and in particular vaccine use? I've moved on from the election and time you did too.

As everybody knows the initial advice was that if our hospitals were given time to set up and we locked down in the initial stage, we would be able to limit the spread of the virus.

During this time all states would increase their medical capacity to deal with the cases that might be forthcoming.

No states have adopted measures to properly ensure that adequate measures by way of vaccinations have been put in place despite having nearly 18 month's lead in time.

In nearly all states the only response is "close the borders" rather then put the pressure on those who either refuse or are reluctant to have the jab.

It is also important to understand that even with the new super spreader variants of Covid, whilst positive cases continue to occur there has been a dramatic reduction in deaths and serious hospitalisations all across the developed countries of the world. I exclude India and some obvious third world countries in that analysis.

We need a Covid passport that allows all those who have received the vaccinations to go about their normal business. If you refuse to receive the injection then as far as I am concerned you can self-isolate and cut yourself off from the real world.

In WA the nonsense from McGowan about lack of availability is simply not true!

I know a doctor in one of the big CBD vaccinations clinics and they are sitting around on their arse waiting for people to make appointments.

When I called up to have my first injection a few weeks ago I though I would have to wait weeks. Instead I was given a choice to come in that day or early the following week. I was even given a range of times to choose from.

Even after cancelling my first appointment due to illness I still got in a one days notice.

Apart from killing confidence and ruining small business "Lock Outs" are not the answer. Increasing rates of immunity are the answer. Let us stop the nonsense and take some personal responsibility!

Have a look at this topic's title!

With respect to the vaccine rollout how many different position has the federal government had on the AZ vaccine in the past 4-6 weeks?

Does this mean that we should open our international borders now for those who have a COVID-19 vaccine passport?
