How did the Liberal costings press conference go today?  Sky News (Australia) didn't think it went particularly well for the Liberals.

Would not have a clue, got rid of Sky News/FoxTel junk a year a go or more and replaced it with Kayo.

That's why I said trains will be "assembled here". I think from memory it was spurred by a shortage of trains worldwide and there was a backlog/waiting list. By assembling them here I assume avoids that problem significantly.

Bazza post=201566

Well Swannie there is one seat I hope you lose on Saturday, the seat of Swan. Felt good giving Michelle Roberts the cold shoulder yesterday as I went to meet Jo Ciccini. Looks like we have a winner there. McGowan, Roberts and Saffioti have tried to hide plans to close the Robinson Rd railway crossing to allow shunting at the new Midland Railway Workshops which they neglected to tell the local residents and obviously neglected to consult local residents before hand.

That goes to add to the arrogance of Mark McGowan and Rita Saffioti. With Clayton  Rd and Lloyd St becoming ever more congested due to the commercial developments and relocation of Bunnings, Robinson Rd becomes even more vital as an alternate route.

Jo started a petition and Labor are refusing to reveal details of the plan. Arrogant, arrogant, arrogant!!!

Important to note that the new "workshops" wont actually be workshops as such.

The trains will still be manufactured in Queensland, the components will be moved all the way across to WA and then simply assembled here.
So instead of moving a whole train here as was previously done will will get in a few bits and bolt them together. The vast majority of the technical skills and trades will remain in Qld.

Essentially it will work the same way the old Ford and Holden plants used to work here.

One wonders how long the plant will operate and if the major changes in roads around Midland will be worth it if it turns out to be a huge white elephant.

Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

got the distinct impression the rest of the party didn't want or expect that to be blurted out - appeared that it was released despite it being rough estimation of figures and definitely not unanimously agreed upon
no way could these idiots run a meat tray raffle let alone a state

we have a choice - ineptitude or arrogance. Me I would rather have arroagance cos the other could land us in deep sheet!
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

arrogance is when the leader of an opposition states to all and sundry that they will quit if they lose their seat - also clearly reveals weakness and lack of fight
pretty much sums up the Liberal Party in WA come to think of it mate

Bazza which electorate do you think will be the high/low (depending on one's perspective) water mark of the Liberal seats?  Personally, I think it is Churchlands.

If anyone is interested the link below is for the WA seat pendulum:

Well I've come to the conclusion that Zac is a Labor plant. They have coached him for some time to appear to be ill prepared and inadequate and he and his colleagues have done a fine job.
