So much for Trump's "I cut China off early" travel ban:

Since Chinese officials disclosed the outbreak of a mysterious pneumonialike illness to international health officials on New Year’s Eve, at least 430,000 people have arrived in the United States on direct flights from China, including nearly 40,000 in the two months after President Trump imposed restrictions on such travel, according to an analysis of data collected in both countries.

There is also the other rather obvious problem with the partial travel bans on China and Europe that the virus was already behind the wall and had a 7 or 8 week head start.

Am I the only one sick and tired of the air time given to Jacinda Arderns bleatings.
If the Kiwis or any other of the visa holders don't qualify for Aus assistance and cant support themselves to stay in AUS then buzz off.
If you are a VIsa holder and flaunt the isolation guidelines then throw them out also.

Yep spot on article BC, Ive followed it a bit over there for a few months, and you could see a train wreck on the way.

First it was "just one guy" and it would disappear like a miracle. then it was hoax made up by the Democrats and Media...then it was going to be all over by Easter.

This is something his head cannot handle. he cant buy off a disease, he cant sack it..

The impression I get is as long as he knows he cant get sick or his family and if they do they will get the best of medical care he couldn't care less, just get back to work.

Imagine coming down with it, and you don't have the comprehensive health insurance or cash to get into a hospital, because there's no such thing as a free public hospital there.

Looking at the tent field hospital they set up in the mud of central park nyc, - actually be a religious group of volunteers a lot of whom aren't even trained, its all pretty tragic given the wealth of the place.

Another ugly incident was when he sacked the captain of the Air Craft Carrier Theodore Roosevelt for trying to help his crew, the Captain got a huge cheer from the Crew when he left the ship.

Old Trump keep making decisions like that and he could have a mutiny on his hands.

No you're dead right about the Chinese DD but the two are different issues. I was talking to my GP today and he has seen modelling which indicates over 1 million Chinese have died which is a touch more than the 3,300 they've declared. Plus the fact they've allowed wet markets to start up again which is a disgrace and the WHO should step in. However, the point of this thread is to highlight the response or lack thereof by Trump and his administration which is going to result in far more deaths in the US than there should be if he'd taken it seriously when others like Singapore, HK, Taiwan and Korea did. If you want to start a thread which roundly castigates the Chinese I'd be happy to contribute.

Very true mate....pretty sure Jacinda would be doing the same thing as Sco Mo if the totals were reversed and there were 600 000 Aussies residing in NZ and 60 000 Kiwis in Aust....everyone is raving about what a fantastic job she is doing over here COVID wise...managing 5 million people in a tucked away area is far far easier then managing 25 + million people on a larger more open playing field.....majority of NZ positives were foreign travellers and Kiwis coming home from overseas, where they were left to their own "honest" devices to self isolate at home....all of them should of been put in mandatory supervised quarantine, like what is the case now, for 14/7....horse has bolted some what...but compared to else where in the world...NZ are doing it easy....even with a total lock down on movement.

Is this not double standards on your behalf though DD? You are criticizing people for not attacking China whilst at the same time are refusing to criticize Trump's epic failure of leadership.

Ti - You don't like your self and probably have a partner - who you put so much emphasis on - lead you to believe that democrats and the labour party along with their handouts are the way to go.
