Ted, I share your thoughts on BJ. From the time he graduated from Colts I liked his size, his appetite for the contest and his general presence.
As you say, over a period of time injury and lack of a well defined role has prevented him from settling into a permanent place in the team.
If he has an injury free pre-season and can settle into a permanent role we could well see some significant upside to his game.
Likewise with JB. Coming back from Sydney last season it seemed that his role was not obvious.
He has plenty of talent and like BJ he could offer plenty either in attack or defence.

I guess you can embrace a bit of Smokesters recruiting top spin here BC and look upon all those Subi colts boys moving up to the seniors and those Subi reserves boys seeking a crack at a league spot in 2020 as "recruits"...reckon Subi will have a plethora of "recruits" at preseason training tonight then....not all doom and gloom BC....but then again realistically not all are recruits by definition either TBH....

This lad looks like a midfielder. Any intel Subi boys ??.

Good get - played all over the ground for Subi this year. Part of their Colts premiership last year and their skipper this season.
Played mostly across half back sweeping up and intercepting, but also capable of kicking a goal down forward or getting big numbers through the middle/out on a wing.

Sounds like a worthwhile opportunity.
If it works out, great.
Interesting that your Colts Captain has chosen to seek opportunity elsewhere.

Jack Monaghan has been added to the senior list. Played colts and ressies at Claremont.

www.wafl.com.au/player/jack-monaghan

One article describes him as a strong-marking defender and another write-up had him as a hard-running midfielder so who knows! He has had some BOG performances for their colts last year but only played 6 ressies games in 2019.

It is interesting that our recruiting has to some degree addressed our essential needs but more so is the addition of some recent colts players from other clubs who with our own colts boys left after the AFL draft will give us a nucleus of promising players to go forward with. Finally some depth surfacing.
I can’t recall a recruiting campaign of such depth.. what is it?.. about 12 in and 2 out. And it seems all this with the points and salary caps in mind.
Good work.

Did anyone get down to the Meet and Greet last night?
Any news from the training track? I note that McInnes has been removed from #36 and now sits down the bottom with all the young recruits on #75.
IMO the longer he remains on the list the more it looks like he might be a recruit.
Any news?

Whilst you may anticipate a sarcastic comment - the reality is when their number moves down then they are more than likely on their way out.

If you check out lists at other clubs you will see a similar theme.

Hope he is at Perth rather than the weagles reserves but it may be looking like like he will be a weagle for life.

Fair comment ooolll.
It seems strange that he is still on our list at all if he is staying with WCE. Masten was off your list very smartly once he was signed by Perth.
Time will tell.
