My god might be land of the giants at Lathlain next year with a lot of new talls arriving. Hopefully McInness signs up that will top it up nicely, be a 1 point player.

Yes sign McInnes and we have had a very good recruiting period.
Good to see us have some talls around the place.
I hope Beau McDonald is around again next year.

Note that Sam east is from Manjimup - relation to Heath East who played for East Perth in the 80's or early 90's? From memory he kicked 8 in a semi final once.

Heath East actually kicked 9 goals in the Royals' 85-point elimination final win over Subiaco in 1992, Oool.
I wish East had kicked a bag (he only got 2) against your boys in that year's prelim final (the battle of the 2 Easts).
However, I don't want to deflect from Perth's recruitment of Sam East.
Good luck to him and the Demons.

Right you are - glad only 2 were kicked against the Sharks in the prelim. So it would appear he is related somehow?

So far we have recruited Jack Amos, Sam East, Samuel Stubbs, Ryan Murphy Kieran Delahunty and Chris Masten. Two midfielders in Murphy and Masten, a forward in Stubbs, two talls in Amos and East and Delahunty who can play at either end of the ground or in the ruck.

Potentially there is Aidan Tropiano and Fraser McInnes to come.

If we get those two over the line it would appear to be a good recruiting period for the club in that they have looked to target specific areas in the team were we needed reinforcements.

Hmm, not knocking the effort it has been awesome but out of those only Masten will be ready to play and make s difference week in week out. Murphy has injury probs, the ones from interstate will take time, probably a season to be players, if they are good, and the others are, on paper, list cloggers.

Or they could turn out to be useful additions to our list. I'm more looking at the positions that they play and how active the club has been in trying to fill positions that needed to be filled rather than just getting a player for the sake of getting a player.

We lost Clint Jones and have recruited two midfielders to cover that loss. Needed a tall and they recruited Delahunty.

Stubbs does not appear to be tall but from the vision I have seen and what was said about him, he has soft hands, is strong in a contest and knows where the goals are. He looks to be a FF and maybe one that will stay deep rather than roaming out past the 50 metre line.

Recruiting is very hit and miss and unfortunately WAFL clubs aren't going to recruit players with big profiles all the time and guys that you haven't heard of are going to be brought in. Turning those players into useful league regulars is now the job of Earl and his coaching team.

Tend to agree somewhat with you summation Mr AFL.
Masten..yes our top recruit more than covers the loss of CJ.
Murphy..yes has had injury problems but I believe that he can play so our Strength & Fitness will, no doubt, be watching his fitness regime very closely.
Delahunty..still not confirmed by the club but considered a tall forward who can also ruck.
Stubbs..unconfirmed ability. Not tall but, he seems to know where the goals are and enjoys nailing them. Looks a Sokol type. Not suggesting he is in that class but we will see what he offers.
Amos & East..two young talls, untried. Hopefully they may develop but neither are the answer to our immediate ruck problems atm.
Martin.. joined us last year as a forward and showed promise in the ressies. Still untried at league level. Needs to build his body strength. Looks like he can play so hopefully he is in the gym and on a high carb diet.
Davis.. Joined us last year and worked his way into the league side late. Showed promise as a small defender. Maybe develop into a "run with" player. He has a good build and could possibly develop into an in and under mid..IMO
There is a bit there for the coaching team to work on. Will be interesting to see how many of the colts boys transition to senior ranks. Though the colts side had a disappointing season there were several playing regular u/18s and PSA which weakend the side for long periods. The AFL draft may rob us of 2 or 3.
Tropiano and McInnes would be huge bonuses if.....

Agreed. I found little bit more on Sam East: According to some notes on him when in the u18s state squad in 2017 he was "a slight but athletic tall defender". He would also relieve in the ruck when playing for EP colts.
