Time For a Flag wrote: DD, It did make me very annoyed seeing Elari, Rogers and Houghton have good games for Swans today. I also spoke to Donovan at half time who has a broken jaw but seemed to be very happy.

I can't see many positives i am afraid.

White and Tropiano played as well as you can expect. Mitch and Jarrod Morton both 7 out of 10.

Eyers and Power both ok but I can't see the 20% improvement that they both need to be dominant. I did like Powers two strong marks late in the third but both set shots missed.

Arangio took some good marks and Sinclair will come along in his new role in the middle.

Johnson, Latch, Wellburn and Sulli reliable in the back line but that is about all. None of them out and out champions screaming instructions and being listened too.

Wally, Bell and 36 (i think leggart - though not sure) not up to it.

Hug - a lot to prove.

Stack nothing until the last quarter when moved into the middle and the game was lever. Good from here though. Should start there next week.

The Flozz ok - but if this is a rebuild year I would rather see number 33 Edmonds from the reserves who has a similar size and style but maybe a little harder at it.

Wolfenden looks like a midget and a skinny one at that. Hope the rummers about him being as tough as nails are true but didn't see much today.

Must play Kalajzic in league for mine.

Billings, Irons, Bateman and Collard should see scores a lot closer but good god almighty it seems a long way to go.

Did like the way the Snake spoke.

Go Dees

Don't worry about Wolfy mate, he has been to the well is a premiership player and will be ok when the number of passengers around him decreases!
Beneath the Southern cross i stand, on Bassendean Oval, can in hand, Swan Districts, you Farkin Beauty!

I like the passion and positivity that true perth supports write on here year after year but im sorry guys nothing is going to change at this club until the board is kicking and perth starts there rebuild from there. The people involved in the running of this club have dug such a deep hole over a 15 to 20 year period (possibly longer) that perth may never recover. The perception about perth is its not how u play footy its who u know perth have never looked in there own district for players well not since paul maher. Reggie jones is one example that came through the junior and colts system for whatever reason didnt continue on at perth last year went to maddington and played league footy, why ???? Wasnt he followed and invited back to pre season this year ??? Instead another wafl team identifies him makes him feel wanted invites him down and who knows what kind of year hes going to have but the skys the limit east freo dont have nothing to lose taking a punt on the kid. And as an example of the flip side perth ayed marty walley in there league team today for me this is astounding he couldnt get a game in a lowly sth freo team last year and i think this is his 3rd attemp to make a wafl team, he couldnt make it at two clubs who the hell at perth is making decisions thinking he can make it at his third attempt. These are just two examples that come to mind from this pre season that really say alot about perth football club and how its run. Personally i would rather have a 19 year old player with unlimited potential than a 25/26 year old proven dude

Jesus Wally did look out of sorts, I didn't realise he was 25
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Wolfenden as a recruit was one that raised my eyebrows. You'd think he would have gone back to swans to play wafl. Perth must have come knocking with a too good to refuse offer which is a dubious move for a bloke who's been playing amateurs for a few seasons?

This is going to be a season from the 90's. Granted '97 was a good year but not much else apart from that. I can see some 30 goal hidings coming our way against East Freo, Subi and East Perth when all the ringers start to play. It's so depressing

Many truths in what you say King. The club is a very sad and sorry sight and many long standing and loyal supporters fear that we will not recover from the mess we find ourselves in.
We will struggle and face ridicule from all quarters and just have to take it on the chin.
To return to a competitive force or even our glory days has become pure fantasy and the future of the club is grim indeed.

Smokey the problem is that the same people from the glory days still seem to be around and running the club and talking bout the glory days or trying to do things the way they did it back then i mean seriously ???? Footy has changed so much if u care about the club so much let some new blood in with new ideas THE WAY THINGS are being done are not working. Now its near on impossible to recruit players or coaches because perth has such a bad reputation mainly about how the things are done by the people that run the club and because of this i think perth may never recover. Money isnt always everything im sure they would have offered top dollar to get a coach and players last off season yet no one wants to come to the club other than a few rejects that cant cut it at other clubs and after another bad season on feild this wont change next off season. Its along road back

There is absolutely no point in blaming this clubs current position on the players or the coach. There are some core fundamental issues with this club and its getting worse. Adding players and the like is not treating the root cause of the clubs horrific performance over the years. We have had players come and go and we have had coaches come and go with the same repetition of performances.
the

The club needs to step into the modern football area and stop living off 'glory days' of a by gone era. Don't get wrong its great having hall of fame functions and recognizing past achievements but we need some new champions and need some new success in the club. The primary factor should be NO ACCEPTANCE OF POOR PERFORMANCE and I don't mean on the field. This club needs some new, young and energetic football minds who can take this club forward.
I AM FKN SICK AND TIRED OF BEING SICK AND TIRED OF THIS FOOTY CLUB!!!!

I don't want harp on again about the board elections last year but these guys need to understand that no matter how much they love the club they are actually killing it one game and one season at a time. I thought Marty was going to be the guy to do it but I get the impression he is now aligned with the 'ol well we tried hard better luck next year' brigade and is in real trouble of falling nicely into this underperforming old boys club!

The reality is the seasons fkd before its even started and this is because the same people who have resided over similar performances are still there churning out their same management styles on an organization that is sick to its core.

As members we are shareholders in this company via way of a membership and our sponsorships. If my investments are not getting a return or are loosing shedloads year in and year out I want to ask some real questions of those people who are running it! As members we deserve better than this and quite frankly I don't think anyone in charge of this company knows what the fuck to do next. Just look at our recruiting this year. They must just sitting in the lounge passing the hat around saying so 'does anyone have any ideas'?

When will those in charge accept defeat and pass on the baton? When will we have a club that is presided over by modern football minded business people rather than 'Pfc lovers'.

The love affair is over boys. You may love us but we don't love you. Time to go our separate and find someone else to love because this relationship is killing us all...................
