That performance is what you expect from a struggling team at the end of the year not from the first game of the year under a new coach.
Piss poor from all concerned!

All 3 grades showed what it is we can expect,not one of our teams could kick 10 goals or more while the opposition in all 3 grades kicked 45 golas to our poultry 17.

We have no depth,our second tier players are average,our seniors players just dont give enough and have a look at who our top point Marquee players are.

Fair dinkum our recruiting this season was poor and im stuffed if i know what type of player it was Spalding was trying to bring to the club.
Heres a clue Snake you were a tall KP forwardrd,guess what type you should have targeted.......

Yep earlier predictions by a few of a winless season looks to be a real possibility.

Why is it we have so many ex Perth players at other wafl clubs??

Imagine trying to attract new sponsors for this season based on that performance today.

That team out there today would be beaten by most opposition reserve sides, and I don't blame the players by the way they had a crack.

I blame as many have said the lack of recruiting and the administration who let it get to this situation as some one else posted the end of this great club is near.

I said we wouldn't win a game and that was with out seeing a scratchie after seeing it with my own eyes today it confirms it for me.

Anyone seen new football manager Tyson Beattie around the club? What is your role at the club Tyson? Are you in charge of recruiting? How the hell this club expects Earl to win games with this list has got me buggered but they threw the kitchen sink at recruiting to try everything to make their golden boy successful.

Make no mistake about it, McMahon has set this club back a few years when you look at the players that left that ended up at other WAFL clubs. Must be some sort of record and where has it got us? Worse off than when McMahon took over I can tell you.

DD, It did make me very annoyed seeing Elari, Rogers and Houghton have good games for Swans today. I also spoke to Donovan at half time who has a broken jaw but seemed to be very happy.

I can't see many positives i am afraid.

White and Tropiano played as well as you can expect. Mitch and Jarrod Morton both 7 out of 10.

Eyers and Power both ok but I can't see the 20% improvement that they both need to be dominant. I did like Powers two strong marks late in the third but both set shots missed.

Arangio took some good marks and Sinclair will come along in his new role in the middle.

Johnson, Latch, Wellburn and Sulli reliable in the back line but that is about all. None of them out and out champions screaming instructions and being listened too.

Wally, Bell and 36 (i think leggart - though not sure) not up to it.

Hug - a lot to prove.

Stack nothing until the last quarter when moved into the middle and the game was lever. Good from here though. Should start there next week.

The Flozz ok - but if this is a rebuild year I would rather see number 33 Edmonds from the reserves who has a similar size and style but maybe a little harder at it.

Wolfenden looks like a midget and a skinny one at that. Hope the rummers about him being as tough as nails are true but didn't see much today.

Must play Kalajzic in league for mine.

Billings, Irons, Bateman and Collard should see scores a lot closer but good god almighty it seems a long way to go.

I didnt want to comment and come out all negative as I had not seen a scratchie so I went along today not expecting much more hoping. I got there just as the ressies started in the third quarter. What I saw in the last half of the ressies didnt inspire me too much. We got some junk goals in the last when the game was all over but the standard was terrible. Then the league started and I thought I was still watching our reserves play. We really have nothing. The 2 Morton's, Tropiano and White is about all we can talk about with one or two others worth a mention.

My beef is the lack of recruiting and the type of player we did recruit. This type of non recruiting is what clubs that are bankrupt do yet we are not in that position. Why didnt we try to get a good VFL player or some of the very good Vic country guys or some of the returning AFL delists? Nope, we went for some duds from other bottom teams.

I remember a season in some of our darkest years when we would regularly get belted by 20 goals with players like Beasley kicking 13 goals and scoring more than our whole team and I feel we may be in for another of those. On paper, the Swans team looked only slightly better than ours. WTF is going to happen when we play East Freo, Subiaco, Claremont etc? I didnt see the colts but I heard we were very ordinary in that also. Nope this season could see us slide into oblivion. Sure we can blame McMahon but WTF did our recruiting team do over the summer?
