Why have you mentioned that here??
I hope you are not suggesting that he could have been a swap for Ugle?

For a 10 point player and one that came to Peel with a pretty good rep hes been a bit disappointing imo.
Doesnt touch the ball a great deal in his games.

We need to aim a bit higher than that when talking about recruiting any 10 point players!

I think I have got confused between James Flaherty and James Hawksley. I was thinking of the latter as it was mentioned here a week or so ago that a Peel player with AFL experience could be coming to us as part of a deal for Ugle.

Just to clarify James Flaherty has gone to Melbourne. It was mentioned here a week or so ago that a Peel player with AFL experience might be coming to the Demons as part of a deal that would send Ugle to the Thunder.

I got the two James's mixed up and that's why I posted it on here.

Jacob Payne looks to have officially signed for the Demons. It looks like Ugle is definitely going to Peel and the club is trying to get the best outcome for them which should involve a couple of players heading our way.

Jarryd Morton, Michael Sinclair and Kieran Hug look like they're the ones setting the pace this preseason while Chris Billings, Aiden Tropiano and Brent Edmonds recently recorded personal bests in the 3km time trial.

Cody Leggett, Brent Wolfenden and Payne were all noted as players eager to get a starting berth for round one against Swan Districts.

Chance Bateman's running was also said to be at its best for some time.

So we talk all the time about making sure we develop our young players, make sure the very best colts transition into very good league footballers and here we are about to let our best young one go.
The couple of players in return we get i guarentee will be average footballers.

We will be the big losers in the Ugle trade!!

We had the weakest backline in the comp last season,is an inexperienced Latch all we have added, another area thus far that has not been strengthened in any way shape or form...ditto for the forward line.
Unfortunately Mr AFL the players that you list as doing ok pre-season none are KPP's the one area this club has been and still is very weak in.

Losing Ugle is another nail in the coffin. If you look at the facts it's quite scarey. We won 3 games last season, had a 13 game losing streak, unbroken as yet.
We have lost several key players Bevan, Risol, Moody, Kane, Morton,Ugle, Busher. Unknown about Leyendekkers and Leeson. Is Irons still playing. Someone even mentioned that Collard hasn't been seen at training for a while.

Then on top of that we have virtually recruited no one, except Wolfenden who hasn't played WAFL league footy for about 3 years.

Atkins and the board, what a joke.

Cesspit that was me that mentioned Collard re-not training.
Thats what i was told, that he hadnt been for a while but Mr AFL (i think it was) reckons he's sighted him at training so i guess he's training.

Leyendekkers has missed a huge chunk of pre-saeason,not ideal when you consider we are real thin with rucks as it is and to have probably your best ruckman underdone for the first part of the season is just another headache for the coaching staff.

Some of those outs are huge and i reckon some are underestimating just how much they are going to be missed!

I would love him to stay 30 plus but Peel have made him an offer that is too good to refuse. He would have to be one of the highest paid players (excluding Fremantle players haha) if he takes up there deal. If what I have heard correctly then this deal includes accommodation for him and his young family and a job. I suppose that Gerald is only doing what he thinks is on the best interests of himself and his family. Whilst I'm not happy with the decision I can't begrudge anyone of doing that.
