Yes PD, very remiss of me. Ross Young was without doubt the best recruit our club had from anywhere since Gary Gibellini. Perhaps Mark Watson wasn't too far behind - both Sandover Medallists.

My reference to Bossong was to highlight the demands on a club that some recruits can make. IMO Bossong made it an art form.

Turtle, speaking of art forms, that is precisely what Swans have done in recent years with their recruiting with six figure deficits and no flags to show for it. What were those consecutive losses spent on? At least Perth live within their means.

Mick Rea was handy too. But let's not get into all that.

Flag in 2010 and finals spots.

When was your last flag, finals appearance or finish above bottom 3? You guys have spent a heap as well on recruits to finish near the bottom of the table for many years. Mortons x 3, Ross Young, Paul Bevan, Leon Davis, Chance Bateman etc etc.

Yeah Turtle but we didn't make big six figure losses, an art form perfected by Swans. Davis and Bateman were not re-locating recruits as such.

Gee Smokey i reckon i could (as could the club and many other supporters) handle a six figure loss for 1 season for just 1 flag!
Lets face it WAFL clubs seem to drag themselves off the canvas after one seasons financial loss,so yeah if thats what a flag would cost us,i'll take that!

Fair comment 30+ BUT just like government debt.. someone has to repay it!!!
Easy to spend it but no small task to repay $500k.

I can relax now. I will probably never see another premiership in my lifetime buy hey, at least we aren't in the red. That is so reassuring.
To think all these years I thought the most important thing was winning the match on saturday. Little did I know I should have been upstairs checking the books.

Yep who cares if the club goes broke after we win a flag, the future looks bleak anyway with what's looking like an alignment or merger in three years time.

Why have you mentioned that here??
I hope you are not suggesting that he could have been a swap for Ugle?

For a 10 point player and one that came to Peel with a pretty good rep hes been a bit disappointing imo.
Doesnt touch the ball a great deal in his games.

We need to aim a bit higher than that when talking about recruiting any 10 point players!
