Eyres tries and probably should be performing better, doesnt do enough around the ground for mine, has been around a while.
Power and Moreno still young and developing probably not up to regular league games.
Sandilands and Borrett are just not up to it fullstop......

The quality of tall man depth at the club whether it be KP'S or Rucks is just not there.

Yes i think he did also hasnt Sandilands gone as well?
No great loss.

Bottom line we have no talls capable of dominating a game either in the rucks nor in the Key positions.

This is why we will be in for a long season unless between now and when the season starts the club can get hold of at least 3 quality talls and we all know thats not going to happen.

At the moment I'd say a key forward and ruck are the most important recruiting targets. Hopefully we can at least grab one of them before the season starts.

I would have thought our recruiting is done and dusted almost.
Probably except for Peel recruit/recruits to replace Ugle.
There won't be anything of quality left.

Guys is Gerald Ugle's departure confirmed by way of official clearance ????

This guy can play & would be in my first 22 for sure - just find it hard to believe he would give up a regular game each week to play reserves every third week down at Centrelink WAFC Handout Stadium ??????

Going over the same ground again 30+. We have to accept that there will be no big name players coming to Lathlain this year.

What we got is what we go with. Yes,we will no doubt get the odd player from Peel in trade for Ugle but we will be relying on the same stalwarts plus some handy recruits eg Wolfenden and Latch, and some promising youngsters. I think we got the best of the deal with the Houghton trade.

We are light on in the ruck with Leyendekers gone with injury again. Say what you like but Eyres is the only experienced ruckman we have. Let us hope that the new fitness guru is working overtime on his aerobic skills and we see him being more mobile and doing more around the ground.

Ben Power showed a lot when he got the chance last year so we should look to him to step up further in 2015. He is 196/99 and pretty mobile.

Young player Jesse Rose, just 19 and 198/98 and probably still growing. He can play IMO. Showed a bit when he got the chance to play ressies last season. I look forward to see how he develops.

Tropiano was a great get and he will play a full season for us. Hopefully Hodgey will be fit to play a full season. Jarryd Morton too.

Is Bradley Keast still at the club? He is a tough nut who showed a lot early last year.

Are we going to play finals in 2015? Most likely not but I hope that the new coach will put a squad of players on the park each week who will want to play for the jumper and will be prepared to do the hard yards.

Hey Smokey im only going over old ground re-talls because someone metioned that Leyendekkersw will miss the whole of the 2015 season.
I think its fair enough to ask "what other ruck options do we have at the club? and to also have an opinion on them.
Ben Power is 25 yr old so you would hope that he steps up in 2015.
I have no problems with Tropianos ability although i do think our midfield depth is not as good as it should be.

You may accept that there will be "no big name players" at the club and by the way they dont have to be "big name" players they need to be players with experience at a state league level that can play and have a bit more maturity that's what we should be chasing!!!

Just to give you an example,i was in Melbourne 2 years ago at a little suburban ground in Werribee on a saturday arvo watching an amateur game of footy and there was a player playing at CHF for a team you just wouldnt of heard of (Parkdale Vultures) and he could play and it was Matthew Bolland now a Subi premiership player,a key forward ,kicked 53 goals, they are out there!!!

Your last paragraph is what is stated every pre-season by various posters and should be the "norm" at every WAFL club.

Smokey your last paragraph is very relevant because we have had a problem with "hard yards" for nearly 40 years.

I would suggest that our suggestion that Florio is soft must be valid.

If he is playing Amateurs this year, maybe the training got a bit tough for him?

We have had a lot of blokes at the club afraid of running.

My favourite ruckman being the prime example.

And how many times have we noted that our midfielders just jog up the corridor, together?

Is Dylan Biggs still on the list, prime example, big as but just not fit enough for reserves football let alone League.

These guys would be better footballers if they were friggin fit!!!!!!!!!
