Last man standing gets the job.
Back to back failed coaching appointments and back to back wooden spoon awaits us in 2015.

There i was thinking how uninspiring the McMahon appointment was until i think of this one.

I think this will be the end of my WAFL watching days.

Come off it 30plus, more uninspiring than the McMahon appointment? Please. I know you are disappointed but that's stretching it a bit far. McMahon never even made it as a WAFL league footballer. Anyone is a massive improvement on that last DUD.

I was just about to say, there is the Marty influence.
His connection with the Wesley FC.
Will have to wait see what impact it has on the playing group.
For mine we obviously made a huge mistake with the first round of applicants.
The management of our Club is questionable.
The sad part is we are stuck with it as there is no alternative, as no-one is prepared or capable of putting their hand up.
I've had it!!

The problem i have with Spalding is he turned his back on this club a while back when we were in need.
His coaching at East freo was ok..not great and hes been out of the WAFL system for a long time.
If he was that good a coach why havent any other WAFL clubs sourced him out before now,he's been available?
Taking a Ammos team to a GF means nothing in terms of coaching WAFL footballers, perhaps we should have got his opposite number in that GF,the coach that won the flag!
Ex AFL footballers dont always eaqual top coaches,it doesnt work that way just ask Michael Voss!

Waiting 3 months for this appointment imo is a disappointing one.
It's not the appointment as i see it that the CEO stated we would be getting.

I suppose we will see what the players think of it over the coming months with recruiting and if players jump ship.

This is my opinion only and if hes widely received as a "good get" so be it! it wont change my opinion.

I too have the feeling that the members, supporters, even the sponsors have been let down over the past few years. There have been very questionable decisions come out of the boardroom that have impacted severely on the club both onfield and off.

I agree DF. There has been no ballot for Board positions in about ten years resulting in a closed shop boys club. I don't question the time and effort that Directors put in but regular changes to the Board bring fresh ideas and vitality so necessary to the management of the club.

Sadly, over the years very few have put up the hand for nomination. Those few that have tried to nominate have mysteriously withdrawn before nominations closed.

There are a lot of Perth supporters out there. Surely there is someone willing, capable and available to come forward as an individual or as a ticket and bring a breath of fresh air to an ailing club.

Pendal and some others on the board have to go, surely.
Atkins is full of hot air. I don't think he is going to lead us out of the wilderness, but there is probably no one else who would take on his job at this time.

I know this is a silly question but has any official announcement been made?
Or is it a "Rumour File" appointment?

No wonder Bevan up stumps and went home.

Yes Cesspit they all have to go but there are too many "ego's" around for that to happen.

just on Bevan - Chubby Stiles was on with Minno on sport fm last Saturday and the reason Bevan left was his wife is going to have a baby and they need to return to Sydney to be around family as they had no family support in Perth, his leaving had nothing to do with any coaching situation.

Hear what your saying Mark, but those excuses are always used.
