if you dont believe what Chubby said on radio you would have to check with Paul Bevan then.

Well, well, well.... first time in how long that nominations have been called for President and four (4) Directors ?
Come on Perth people get your nominations in or at least influence others to do so.
This is our big chance to make some changes. Let's not miss the opportunity to get the right people in to turn the club around..

If you guys are disillusioned now, wait until the West Coast peckerheads move out to Lathlain and you become the hated aligned Club.

You always were the WAFC's choice for alignment.

Yep Mark, I know what you are saying, but Chubby is only going to provide the official line, because of who he is, and who he associates with.

There could well be other reasons, I heard Paul was waiting to make a decision based on who we appointed as coach.

Wonder if the incompetent delay had something to do with it.

As you say maybe ask Paul.

Guys, see the post headed "Perth Coaching Team for 2015 to be announced" under WAFL topics I just posted (wrong topic, I know) but Perth will be announcing our new coaching team on Monday in Earl Spalding for 3 years and he will have Arthur Maskos as his assistant who was the coach of South Freo colts for past 3 years(?).

We can now get back to the business of getting this club back on its feet and approaching some former AFL players. I suggest Helbig, O'hanlon, Williams (former Richmond) Ash Smith (WCE) Sherringham, Burberry (Geelong),Brent Renouf (Port)Brent Moloney (Brisbane) Michael Wood (Freo)Christian Howard (Bulldogs) or Jaryd Cachia (Carlton). They won't be cheap but some of these players are what we need to fill particualar big holes that we have.

Maybe wishful thinking but hopefully coaching announcement has been delayed because Harvey has committed to Perth if he doesn't get a gig at Essendon.

Under no circumstances is Ash Smith to be approached.
We need footballers and he ain't one.
The only kick he got in the GF was up the arse.

SORRY SORRY SORRY.

Hey all, Have been given some mixed info. The assistant coach is NOT Maskos but I have now been told it is Mark Foster, colts coach at East Freo. Seems Maskos was approached but South's upped his remuneration to stay. Either way, I am more than happy to have Foster as he is another with a great reputation in developing juniors and East Freo have had more AFL draftees than most WAFL clubs. My boys who have been part of the colts & development squads over past few years, also say that Foster is very well respected amongst the youngsters & knows what he is talking about

This also seems to be the reason for the delay in the appointment of Earl as he was very particular in grabbing one of these guys knowing their strengths with juniors. Earl could have been announced a few weeks back but we wanted to get the good news done in buckets rather than dribbles.

People can criticise the appointment but he is a proven AFL player at one of the biggest & Proudest clubs in the AFL. He also made his mark in the AFL days when it was at his toughest and has been involved in AFL assistant capacities for some time and with some very good experienced AFL coaches. He also has Perth blood through & through, as has most of his family. For those that know the big Duke, he is a straight shooter and very driven. Rather than be critical regarding his appointment in lieu of superman or God, i think this is a very good positive.

Again sorry for the wrong info initially.

Cheers for the update Swanky, hopefully we'll know if you are on the money in the near future. I hope he has some big buckets because they'll be needed!

League 9th, Ressies 8th, Colts 7th.......some of our best players already gone Bevan et al , Smith likely to be drafted. Not 1 other young player good enough to be in the 18 invited to the state combine
