Well looks like Bomber will be coaching Essendon next year and beyond. That might mean when he knows he is officially in charge he gets to pick his assistants and Mark Harvey could be one of them. Hopefully Harv's loves the lifestyle over here and being out of the AFL spotlight.

2 weeks tommorrow the 2nd round of applications closed.

They seem to be certain on SEN it will be Bomber head coach and Harvey is assistant. Let's be honest, which job would you take? 70-120k to coach a basket case WAFL team or big cash to assistant coach an AFL club?

I thought the latest talk was Thompson's coaching career could be over.
Due to his involvement in the whole scandal.
Did he get Danks to Essendon?

Again I'm sure Harvey came back to WA for family reasons.

No doubt Essendon but hopefully he sees the basket case as challenging and theres no bigger one in football than at Lathlain.
Harveys been there and done that as an Essendon assistant,would he do it again?
Probably but i get the impression with Harvey that its not about the money.

I have no doubt that disappointment looms when it comes to the big announcement on our coach....a dud springs to mind.
Harvey is just a pipe dream i think.

Harvey would be a very good appointment. However you just get the feeling that nothing ever seems to go right for Perth and that this will unfortunately not be the case.

Absolutely. I hope he has applied. Let's be honest, its that level of applicant that we'll be seeing in the mix and I'm absolutely certain there are good candidates out there like Maskos, Orsi etc, blokes who had coached with success and come with experience at stable, successful clubs who would be good in the job. But whether they are willing to be grilled on all things coaching by our Football Director and his vast expertise might be the stumbling block. I've got no fear on taking a punt with someone like Maskos. He could not possibly be worse than the fraud we had to endure for 7 years who has left the joint in absolute ruin.
