Aussie Jones has been coaching since he retired from the AFL Luci ..firstly in one of Melbourne's suburban comps and lately Bendigo Gold in the VFL (who are stone motherless last btw).

Hmmm. Deer Park - what comp is that? He is a playing coach but I don't think that would be appropriate for the WAFL so he would have to adapt to coaching from the coach's box.
Clarkson did have wraps on him as a coach for what that is worth.
For mine, he is the best prospect of the names your mentioned Lucifer but I think Marty is right.... lets think about this a little longer and see what other prospects manifest.
I still get the feeling that Dimmer and co are looking for someone with greater knowledge of and experience with the WAFL competition.

Gee those form lines aint great are they? Bendigo Gold haven't won a game this season in the VFL so Aussie should fit right in at Lathlain. Jackson Sketcher I think is playing for them so Aussie can get the goss from him. Deer Park? FMD, what a dump of a joint. What are they paying him in, crystal meth?

This is a terrible Catch 22 for the club. Difficult to recruit without a coach in place. But if the applicants aren't considered up to the grade what choice is there but to keep looking?

I wouldn't be against Coxy getting the gig, but Simpson is really keen on him being an assistant at WC next year and apparently other AFL clubs are after him as well to coach.

I'm sure he is in hot demand why he wants to leap straight into a senior position is interesting. But if he has any success at all with Perth he will be seen as a wonder coach. No offence to our Perth friends but it is a hell of a task, but not completely hopeless.

I spose the one thing that would be appealing to a bloke like coxy ans other potential untried coaches is if they can have any measure of success they can pretty much write their own ticket in a coaching career. It essentially gives them a big head start on their coaching career. Lets face you cant polish a turd but if you can at least make it smell pleasant enough you could be on a real winner.

I hope they are at least talking to coxy and even more so glassy. I agree guerra and jones are both high risk options and the selection committee will see this too.

The problem with being a poisoned chalice is that only fools will take it willingly and think they can turn it into fine wine.

I doubt very much that Dean Cox is a candidate.
West Coast will pay him a big fat pay cheque to be ruck coach and failing that he may get an offer of 200k plus for a season at Collingwood,he wont be at Perth.

Looks to me that no-one of experience wants our job.
Our reputation has turned coaches off.

This coaches ad has gone Australia wide and if we have to re-advertise...well i dont know where thats going to get us.

Maybe Micale is the best option if he's available,i would like a younger coach but if there not there..there not there.

As far as rookie coaches go if Brent Guerra has applied then he'd be my choice, purely based on his Afl background, the Hawthorn influence and who he has played under.

The other option is to get on our knees and plead and beg with a guy like Harvey, pester the shit out of him and try to change his mind.

The longer this drags on imo the more likely we will end up with another McMahon.
