I just had a good long look at our list. Looking at some positives - it may be a good thing that we have lost so many senior players from last year - even players I rated very highly like Gibba, Fisher and Fraze. A new coach needs to stamp his ideas across the group and have a bunch of players that are excited.

Reckon Baxter Philip, Conor McDonald could be very exciting.

AJ, Jack Avery, McPartland, Nyika John, Oscar Bird, DBW, Marshall Jones, Kristan Cary  and Connor Sing to finally show that they belong every week.

Coniglio, Byrne, Sinclair, Regan Clarke, Matt Tayler, Kieran Hug, Mitchell Brown, Austin Davis to keep doing what they do.

Throw in the new talked about recruits. Get some value out of the recruits we haven't spoken about (Lachlan Paton for example)

Retain an interested Narkle or Stack.

Unearth 2 diamonds in the rough that have been flying under the radar.

And things may be very nice indeed.

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying, if blokes aren’t committed under German they won’t last 5 minutes. He spelled that out in no uncertain terms in the first team meeting before the first training session. Maybe 1 or 2 have taken his advice. He needs to put his stamp on things, it’s his way or the highway.

A couple of names you mention there I believe haven’t returned either, Marshall Jones and Kieran Hug. Would like to see Hug stick at it but not sorry to see Jones go I don’t think he would last 5 minutes under German from what I’ve seen already.

Jack Poole is on the senior list now along with several others you mentioned. I clicked on Jack Poole, 190cm, 79kg from Jandakot. Is he one that didn’t make the cut at South’s or have we got Jandakot now? As we should I might add.

And I see a couple of names from each of Chittering and Mundijong JFC’s. Is this the new boundaries starting to flow through or more rejects from other clubs zones?

You have a better and bigger zone now but I don't believe you gained Jandakot. I asked the WAFL for a map of the new zones and received no reply.

If Souths didn't know about or rate Jack Poole then I think they've made an error of judgement although in fairness he developed late and caught many off guard.
Lol no surprise there at all La H. I’ve tried trawling over the WAFL and WAFC sites and can’t find shit except lists of names, contact numbers and email addresses of representatives of each clubs zones, but what I could find is a shed load of those maps you are asking for from previous zone changes from doing a Google search.

It’s no surprise really the way chief of the WA Gestapo runs things in this new hermit kingdom.

As a project for a website, I watched every colts game in 2022 and I was impressed with many of the Perth players.

Unfortunately, a lot are PSA by being either country or from the wealthier areas like Karawara, Salter Point, Victoria Park, Como, Manning, Waterford or South Perth, so are rarely available as PSA football takes precedence over colts for unknown reasons.

Apart from Baxter Phillip and Connor McDonald, I'd also be keeping an eye on Jack Poole who is a real competitor in the backline and he has a bit of flair to go with it.

I also really enjoyed watching Oscar Hine-Baston, a highly skilled Indigenous small rebounding defender. Daniel Hill, who is another talented Indigenous small who can play forward or back. Cameron Hall - a reliable tall lockdown defender and also Oliver Zolnier-Owens who gives effort and accumulates possessions.

The next years bunch is good as well but once again most will be playing PSA but keep an eye out for Aiden O'Driscoll, Quayden Roe, Coen Livingstone, Mitch Keene, Elijah Scoble and Eden Gomersall.
Had to laugh when Karawarra was mentioned as a wealthy area.I remember as a postie relief delivering Karawarra in the 80s and 90s which had state housing flats and delivering pension cheques.I think it has gentrified since then with the some of the high rise knocked down and some houses sold off but would put it on a par with Bentley/East Vic Park as a working class suburb.

If it still works as it used to with boundary changes, Perth would gain every player from the new areas who are born 2007 or later and South would keep hose born in 2006, 2005 etc.

At the moment I can't even tell or find out if Perth have regained Kelmscott JFC, Armadale JFC and Roleystone JFC from South - apart from Byford, Mundijong and a section of the East Fremantle zone.

If not the zones are now quite complicated. South deserved some compensation and I suspect they might have received Rockingham, Safety Bay and Baldivis from Peel but I wish they would release a statement so we know for sure.
John Townsend obviously had some luck obtaining information on new boundaries a couple of months back. I think we got Byford, Seville Grove, Bullsbrook and Muchea. I’m sure he mentioned South’s got some of those areas back from Peel they previously had. I reckon SF have probably benefited more than us from the changes. I think Jandakot, Mundijong and Byford juniors etc…. might overlap different clubs zones. Not enough kids so they have to travel outside their zone to play in another.

Waterford estate is probably the glam part of Karawarra or is that a suburb in it’s own right? Full of Asians and Indians. Bentley and Karawarra are basically overrun with overseas students going to Curtin uni.

Yeah must be tough not having your best players available most weeks because they are from the country or PSA footy takes precedent.

I don't have much optimism for 2023.
AGM tomorrow night may throw some further light on it.
We have lost a heap of players and gained a few.
I fear the worst if we have not recruited a ruckman, a tall forward and a tall back.

If you want to know what your zone boundaries are, surely the PFC would know. Give them a call. Waste of time calling the WAFC as they dont give a rats.
