Pre Season draft was done today. From what I have seen only 3 or 4 clubs participated. No WA boys involved.
As I understand it all, there is only the Mid Year Draft to go.

Judd McVee  from EF was the only one to go in the Rookie draft and as mentioned no WA boys taken in the pre season draft.....mid year draft is the killer....for sides like EF and Perth to be successful, players like Avery, Ainsworth, Dixon, Strnadica etc need to be playing top notch footy.....if they do, they are then in the gun for the mid season draft......catch 22 as they say

Well we lost Alec Waterman to Essendon about two weeks before round one last year, I thought that was the pre season draft, in March

I think they have a supplementary draft in March?  That was the one Waterman was snaffled in I think. Makes it very hard for 2nd tier clubs to plan their seasons.

Yes, I stand corrected on this matter. It certainly does make it difficult for 2nd tier clubs. There needs to be contigency plans in place by those clubs who have built a playing squad only to lose one or two key players on the eve of the WAFL season. 
Whatever they do, it will not adequately replace a late loss or two at that stage. Perhaps a club may get a line on losing a player early and can put a contigency plan in place. Not an easy task if the player they expect to be lost misses out and the salary and points' caps come into play on an excess player.
Whatever the circumstances the club's season programme will be decidedly prejudiced.

Apologies if I have missed it but where is the clubs official announcement of Choppers return?
pretty piss poor if it has been missed as surely not only is it good news for members but also might attract a few younger guys who were deciding whether to play colts or not.
Also the Ainsworth posts being removed wtf..Before they  avoided communicating about all of tbe negatives around the club, now they're ignoring  the positives too.
