Yep, keen to hear your thoughts on them Smokey. 👍🏽

In other news, it’s great to see the colts mounting a comeback. They’re only 90 points down now. Looks like our zone is the gift that keeps on giving

Too many of our blokes just can’t play.

Do we need a big man or what. McInnes goes out and we just totally fall apart.

Recruiting not working out unfortunately. Reid hopeless.
Yep not a Reid fan and never rated Eyres as much as others but I'd have him over Reid. His two goals were from free kicks, one down the ground. He did kick straight at least.

We were just terrible, we looked flat right from the start and I'm wondering if last week's game with a couple of qtrs going over 35 minutes in oppressive conditions in the middle of the day took it out of us. Eagles also got slaughtered today.

Langlands looked flat but heard a relative passed away during the week and he might be heading home to Melbourne during the week.

Hopefully there's not a Covid outbreak while he's over there or we could lose him for a few weeks. No forward system. Even though two dad's won the hitouts against Gault their midfield just dominated.

One positive Haydn Busher was there today and I'm told can train with us this week and will play in two weeks.

Well played Swans who lost Jetta early in the game.
Get on your bike.

Yep, Reid out of his depth today. Would need to show more than that. He did kick one third of our goals though. He was no orphan. We had to many players not willing to work hard at stoppages and to go hard for marks.
Swans came to play and fully deserved a good win. March premiers by the look of things for Demons.
Tough game next week. Claremont in good form. Cannot see us improving enough over coming week to bother them.
As for those players in the ressies, La Fontaine spent some time in defence and some up forward but did not do enough at either end. Birdman did some good things but like Reid found the pace of the game too much. Steel took a couple of good marks but showed very little to enhance his chances and Stubbs useful at best but doubtful we will see him at league level too soon.
Yes, the loss of McInnes and Smith and no Fisher was not helpful but as a unit we did not show- up to play today.

Totally outplayed, could be another long season unless tonight was just one of those games. Clark will be a sorry boy for a while, collected a couple of good hits. Think Byrne is on report but didn't see the incident?.

Nicholas tried hard and did some good things but looks like he's an ankle or lower leg injury. The disposal from Davis, Masten and Grey (and a few others ) needs to improve big time. Plenty of players had games they'd rather forget.

How embarrassing is it to not be able to provide a scoreboard at this level of competition ? A complete joke and the board when it is working is nothing short of pathetic. While they are fixing that maybe they could look at installing a wind sock and updating the sound system!

The front of the can bar has uncovered star pickets which is an accident waiting to happen, either rip them out for make it safer with caps or a more suitable barrier.

That was like winding the clock back.
It was as bad as we have played for a long while.
The game plan even reminded me of McMahons coaching days.
All the forwards playing up past the wing is crap, put that part of the game plan in the top drawer slam it shut with a note,”Do not open!!”
I thought our coaching staff sat on there hands and did nothing about Swans rebounding from there back half.
For mine we have a few that I think are just not ready for league football.

We don’t have a forward line and I doubt we have the depth to inject life down there.
I can see Busher when he comes in he’ll be asked to plug holes everywhere from the backline to the forward line and I reckon we’ll ruck him as well.
Gee if Busher was there he probably thought not much has changed since I’ve been gone.

I think we are in trouble in the coming weeks,I wonder now about our depth particularly our forward depth.
Today just didn’t look good.

We can point fingers at the forwards but the reality the disposals into the forward line was a bloody Disgrace.
Time after time the ball over the head of a leading forward or dropping short or simply to the wrong side. Absolute garbage disposal going forward and often under very little pressure. Was this the game plan - long to forward? Fuck I hope not.

DBW got a best player award tonight.
I must be living in an alternative dimension. This smacks of the coach defending his decision to not play Eyres. I am starting to get worried about this season.

It’s hard to kick to forwards when they are caught out continually up on the wing and quick rebounding footy the player with the ball bombs away, no one to kick to.
Yes if we get the ball out of the middle after a ball up the delivery in there was shit.

Play with an open forward line have your tallest KPF playing and leading out of the goal square with a small crumbing at his feet have your half forwards drifting and roaming just outside 50.

We also lack genuine outside pace.

Very little to be happy about.
I reckon the bulk of the side were down  compared to last week.

Swans out marked us. out muscled us. We couldn’t handle their chip kicking game.
We had 46 inside 50’s for very little
Swans had 57 inside 50’s beat us by 50

Masten looks sore but battled really hard. Edmonds, Grey, Nicholas, Davis and Regan Clarke all solid.

Sinkers sore too which may be an issue for next week ?
