Sorry, but if you are 21, like Hitchcock and Reid, and yet to crack a league game, there is probably a very good reason for that. That said, we need depth, and they are 1 point players, so no problem getting them. I guess they may be a pleasant surprise. People have mentioned Dela, McInnes, McDonald, Grey and Fisher as losses, or likely losses. The other is O'Driscoll who will probably get drafted. Hopefully we can announce some good signings after the draft.

There was talk of Josh Smith.
Have heard nothing more.
He would be a good pick up.
I guess we are waiting for the draft to see if he is redrafted.

If you look at Reid's stats for 2019 his last 2 ressies games he had good HO stats.
Maybe he has been targeted as a potential ruckman.
He would have been behind Goddard in the pecking order.
Hope we have a ruck coach.

Ted, I hear what you are saying and I am cautious about expecting too much.
As you say they will be depth players and only 1 point each. Considering the depth of Claremont from top to bottom it would not be unreasonable to suggest that at least one of them might thrive on an opportunity to finally step up and end up being a "good get".
Maybe we get lucky and.....no I shall just settle on one for now.

As I alluded to previously his stats in the 2019 Ressies finals his stats 33 and 35 HO combined with 15 and 14 disposals. Yes it is a big jump to league level but I suggest the opportunities were not there at Claremont this last season.
Yes, we do need a ruck coach. Must be one around somewhere.

Looks like he averages about 30 HOs per game.
Happy to see where it goes.
Happily spending only 1 point.

Let's not beat around the bush or kid ourselves. Our losses going into 2021 - Fisher, McInnes, Grey, MacDonald, Delahunty, O'Driscoll - are significant. Leading goalkicker, B&F, and two in-and-under midfielders, plus a back-up ruck and another midfielder. 6 first team-players, and 5 of our best 10. Our recruiting so far hasn't matched our losses. English may yet be picked-up through rookie draft (geez AFL is cruel - 2 years at the best team in comp., with one season spent playing practice matches), and I've heard no mention that he's even thinking of playing with us. The lads from Claremont are unknowns, although the tigers supporters on here are pretty sane, so I respect their opinion about Hitchcock. Reid possibly is a replacement for Delahunty. The forward from EF is an unknown - he obviously wasn't in Bill's plans and Bill tends to split a room. But Loersch played Reserves all of 2020 and seems to have kicked more points than goals in 2019 before being injured. Byrne should come back in which is a big plus; but Yeo's injury seems pretty significant. Masten hopefully will play more games. Even with Yeo, Byrne and Masten I don't think that covers the loss of Fisher, Grey & O'Driscoll. Other possible ticks are more games from Murphy, McPartland, and College. However, through our mid-sized ranks we need Quill, Peletier, Hansen, Gray and a few others to take big steps, and there was little indication of that in 2020. Clarke may be one we can expect more from.
Still, our list, as it stands, looks off the pace. We might be thereabouts 6th or 7th. Moss appears tactically astute; but the coaching group needs a motivator - an assistant who can get inside the player's heads and get the best out of them emotionally (which I think was Spalding's go).
For what it's worth - need capable ruck, inside-mid, and goal-kicking forward. I just don't see anyone on the horizon who can fill these roles.

Very well summarised Personal. I couldn’t agree more. We look like doing the typical Perth thing after a promising season, and now going backwards. The players mentioned are huge losses and we all hope Byrne will be back and playing well but there is no guarantee on that. The big difference this year was we had 2 quality targets up forward in McDonald and McKinnes and to think we can replace them with Loersch, an EF reserves player, is a bit disillusioned.
What is it with us and Claremont reserves players in the last couple of years. We seem intent on loading up with them. At least Richardson had a reasonable season but even he can be inconsistent.

Not player related but Steven Armstrong and Chance Bateman have come onboard as assistant coaches for 2021.

That is excellent news Mr AFL. I had heard a whisper about Steve Armstrong and pleased that Chance returns also. Chance must have relinquished his role with WCE.
Those two strengthen the coaching panel overall.
