Good question, smokey. i wondered with their pursuit of North and Brayshaw whether they could still be allowed to have Grey and McInnes in their list with the old rule about marquee players. Then again we know how the wafc apply rules to their favourite corporate behemoth

A new name on our Senior list: Oscar Bird 19yo from North Shore AFL Sydney.
No other details. Any intel on him anyone?
A bit frustrating that there has been no new news posted on website for a fortnight. Not even a welcome to club for the three Claremont boys who are now confirmed Perth players.
I know it is a quiet time this stage of the year but we do need to keep up to date with happenings in and around the club.
I see that Trevor Williams is listed as Football Operations Manager. He was acting in that position. Is he now confirmed as the new Football Operations Manager??

Looks like a young Sydney academy player, Oscar Bird, has joined the club from North Shore. I don't know much about him. From what I can gather plays forward and runs through the wing, too.

Looks like Oscar played U19s 1st Division for North Shore Bombers.
He kicked 2 goals in the winning GF.
Not on WAFL list so clearance may not be through.
North Shore appears to be an amateur club as NEAFL covers NSW.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It's the size of the fight in the dog.

Frustrating when players aren’t announced- I assumed the club must email members. East Fremantle does every week with an update on new signings and links to press articles and interviews. Has there even been an announcement on Loersch??

Not sure about the lack of communication. I wonder if OB was recommended by Paul Bevan? He's been a lookout for us in Sydney...

Still hoping for a couple more quality players. Of the guys confirmed so far, no-one presents as a top tier player. Loersch will be in our first 22 - a tall forward target will give us structure - but his form has been less than impressive over the last couple of years. None of the other confirmed players would be best 22. Josh Smith and English would be good additions, though they are very generic in terms of height and build. The real key, I think, lies with what happens with the 3 Eagles reserves players. The most important is McInnes.

Not sure how true it is.
But I heard yesterday all 3 Eagles players had signed with us.
Not sure what their contractual status with the Eagles is.
We will need to pay transfer fees so pass the hat round boys.
Hope it's true.

A story in the west on the 28th Oct announcing WC’s new AFLW coach and assistants mentioned Brady Grey as “former Fremantle Docker and now Perth player in the WAFL” as one of their new assistants.

They are now WCE players again hence they aren’t showing on our list. It will be highly unlikely they will end up playing for us next year. The only chance may be McInnes but a deal will have to be worked out. To be honest about it, McInnes had the chance to come home to Perth for 2019 but opted to stay at WCE.
