Yes we need to build a strong squad with depth. We don’t want cry babies who leave if they aren’t picked in the league side first up, or get dropped during the season. A squad / club mentality is needed.

We haven't had a tall, strong marking CHF since Spinks in 97, and he wasn't even ours. Did we have another in the early 90's? If so, stuffed if i can remember

No we have not had a power forward this century.

I think Simon Rudd was the last one but he didnt stick around.

Simon Rudd was good bloke but unfortunately not in the same class as Spinks or McInnes.

I was thinking more along the lines of 1991 when we made the finals. We had Gavronich and Pears who i think swapped out in the ruck and rested forward, but i don’t know if we had anyone playing the role of a mobile CHF

In other good news, the club has confirmed Doulton Langlands has signed on for 2 years. I expect to see him on our WAFL list later this arvo

They rest ruckmen on the bench these days.
Not sure why a marking ruckman couldn't be rested forward.
