Sorry to miss out on him.
But, if he doesn't want to be there then I don't want him.
We need committed people at the Club.

Not good enough. The Board has to be held accountable for this. You can't let blokes of this potential leave for a couple of bucks

We have a bevy of mids.. Masten, Byrne, Grey, Smith, McPartland, Colledge, Clarke, Langlands, Quill, perhaps Yeo will be back at some stage, plus others who can have a run through midfield Fisher and Cognilio eg, even Stubbs and Richardson at times and maybe some of the new boys like Hitchcock, Clark and Hayward from the Colts.

Masten will play one more year. Yeo will play 1 more year. Quill will struggle to get consistent league games. Langlands will end up the same as Giobbi and only play 1 or 2 years. Grey and Fisher will play one maybe 2 years. Stubbs will go home next year. McPartland and Byrne are young and local so hopefully play 100 games in the red and black. Don't know much about the colt boys but how many of them don't go on and play league for us because we have had older stop gap players or recruits from other clubs preventing their development.

Gee wiz don’t bother turning up in 2021 PD. That is the most negative post I’ve seen for a long time.

That is all you have - "Gee wiz don't bother turning up in 2021" What sort of stupid comment is that? Meanwhile the rest of us are having a decent conversation about youth recruitment vs old age. I have my 2021 membership and a second one to bring friends along. I will be there you can count on that. I think you will find many members will agree that players like Luke English should be a priority. To be fair I'm sure we chased Luke hard but my concern is we didn't have anything left to offer because of all the other recruits. We now have a 1 possibly a 2 year window. I have nothing against recruiting interstate players like this new fella from St Kilda but it frustrates me when when they leave after 1 or 2 years and in that time we have missed out on local players that go on and play 10 years for other clubs.
If you can't contribute something interesting to the conversation - I prefer you just read every one else's comments.

It will be interesting to see what Doulton Langlands brings to the club.
Well built 187/83 has bullish pace, prepared to take the game on, an inside or outside mid, contested possessions 50%, averages around 5 tackles, good delivery by foot 70% and has leadership qualities.
Sounds ok but we shall have to wait and see how he goes. We have been disappointed too often. Presumably we have had some intel on him from our Melbourne contact.

Nothing stupid about my comment mate just gobsmacked by your negative outlook after one of the most productive recruiting campaigns in the last 20 years highlighted in bold above.

What you call "negative" I call reality. Answer these questions:
How many games did Giobbi play? Lets not forget his mate Cox both from Casey Dmeons, how many did he play?
How many games did Mitch Morton or his brother play?
What about Angus Graham?
And what about Kyle Reimers ?
I really could go on for a long time with names but you get the point. As much as I like players like Matthew Rogers, he was 29 when he returned to us and chances are we will only get 2 maybe 3 years out of him and in the meantime young players like Z. Roe, L. Marlin and Blake Johnson are not increasing their development with league experience. This has been the downfall of our footy department for 30 years.

You call it negative all you want, I have 30 plus years of proof on my side.

Geez PD1899, not one positive in you latest outbursts. You have a negative slant on every thing the club has done in regards to recruiting in 2019 and again 2020.
We have come a long way in the the past 2 years and it resulted last season in getting several monkeys off our backs.
Making the finals last season was a great effort. We actually were not far off going much deeper into the finals.
This new off season we have been able to control our losses which with prudent recruiting has culminated in covering some of our deficiencies and increasing the depth of the playing group.
Is it enough? Possibly not but the point is we have not been sitting on our hands and doing nothing. We will have to wait and see how the new recruits fit in and what they bring to the team. The age old saying "only time will tell."
For me, the critical things were the retention of McInnes, Grey and Fisher, and the recruitment of Smith. The other big plus is Byrner is back.
The new boys should be welcomed to the club and allowed to settle in without facing any negativity from supporters. We should have an open mind about them and give encouragement to play their part in what we all hope will be a very successful 2021 season.
You are entitled to your opinions but most of your thoughts posted on this thread are not helpful.

I agree Smokey, a lot of good work has been done the past couple of years.
Our recruiting this year has been extremely productive.
Whilst no AFL ruckman has been gained I think that maybe plans have been put in place.
An extremely talented midfield group may just be able to work with the resources we have.
Lets see the game plan and give it a chance.

Perth have certainly improved their squad and you guys should be confident going into 2021. I'd think you'd push up a couple more rungs and win a final or 2.
