Something ASADA never brought to the tribunal and claims not to have. Robbos response "that's a big accusation James" Hird's response "it's not an accusation, it's a fact". Have they withheld evidence at ASADA that was detrimental to their case. Hird drops a 'bombshell' (Whately's words) and apparently Gerard owned him..ok

You've believed him for this long nothings going to change now, my take on the interview was that Hird looked very uncomfortable answering Whatelys questions, don't tell me that you believe Asada played funny buggers with the evidence, WADA are going to reem your club as Gerard said its looking very ominous.

Wow apparently the Court of Arbitration in Sport named the 34 Essendon players on their website before withdrawing the information later. Too late, it is now all over social media. What a mess

DW it beggars belief that in allegedly handing over the spreadsheet or database that Essendon did not keep a backup.

I agree with you there swans42.... but the allegation by Hird is an interesting one...,and CAS releasing the 34 players names is a bloody disgrace. Governance issues from the bloody ruling authority now. What next!

Essendon didn't keep a back-up, or didn't want to keep a back-up.

And now WADA will deal with that and unless paperwork is produced, the Bombers will be in an ocean of shit. Its a totally new game now, they should be very worried.

Agree ..
Within the interview on 360 I saw a timid and reflective Hird not happy to be sitting there at all..
He even asserted that because the players "had not been found guilty" of using BT4 then they were 'innocent'
Gerard soon corrected him by the truth of the question was never asked and the finding was never made..

Hird had little in reply other than a very immature response of - "well.. were they found guilty of using it?"
Gerard once again - the question was never asked!!

Yes this is now a whole NEW court being faced and not a collusive one.

As was a past movie quote:- Be afraid - Be very afraid and the direction of that quote I aim toward the Essendon footy club (they failed their employees/players with a corporate lure of money and then finals aspirations before their time and specifically Hird(it was under his watch and his duty of care that he failed his players and the AFL public

He's not and never has been the Messiah - he's not the Tall Poppy
He is a very very very stupid boy....

He should have stayed in memories as a wonderful player for the club and the competition - he's now in the same dark room as J Akermanis, B Cousins, D Kerr and others - remembered for their failings (his unfinished)

Its a entirley new hearing (De Novo) which means anything that was found that happened in the old judgement cant be taken into account and is not relevant it is literally as if it never happened, it also means additional evidence can be heard, but most importantly the AFL has absoultley no influence or power over the proceedings at all, this is critical as its more than obvious that they have done everything they could to protect their own brand as well as tip off Essendon.

Peter North wrote: Just watched Gerard Whately completely own Hird on 360 I thought Hird was going to cry, about time a real journalist asked the hard questions.

Hird kept repeating that they were found not guilty and Whately had to keep correcting him that that was not the case at all, and of course that knob Robbo was massaging Hirds balls at every opportunity.

Agree Peter, Hird had nowhere to go, he won't get the cosy inner sanctum Victorian treatment with WADA, they wont even know or care who he is, he might be big time there but on a world stage he is a no body.
