This has gone quiet.  Any news floating around?

The hearing finished last Friday and the judge has reserved his decision. No timeline on when he will make the decision public.

As mike wrote, the case finished friday after the final submissions were called.
Not sure when the old judge will make a determination. Have kept an ear on the radio speaker today and not heard anything.
Could be a couple of weeks or maybe several months before a decision is made public knowledge.

I’ve seen where it’s been said Judge Herron could take months to bring his final determination.

Dirty old pedo grub should be locked up & the corrupt cops that swept the filthy pigs behaviour under the carpet should be exposed for their corrupt actions.

Couple of factors involved in why Cable may not have been charged with a criminal offence by the DPP and that civil case has now been heard. 

The law has only been change relatively recently that removed the statute of limitations on sexual assault cases. Previously one was in place that may have prevented any charges being laid once these women came forward as adults to discuss their childhood assaults. 

Secondly now the statute of limitations has been removed there is a much lower burden of proof required in a civil case than a criminal case. With potentially no DNA evidence available and the duration of time having passed, a guilty verdict in a criminal case may have been hard to achieve with a jury. 

Bad news for Mr Cable you would think. Ex Penrhos teacher found guilty of historic grooming and sexual assaults on 5 former students. All based on hearsay and no physical evidence or witnesses. He tried to lay the blame on them saying they did inappropriate gestures towards him like kissing him and flashing their breasts. Pathetic.

This case puts the heat on Judge Herron and the cops.

Cable's day of judgement is coming, finally. Astonishingly another woman has come forward unrelated to the other 5 who came forward in the civil case. She is the one bringing these new criminal charges. This girl was aged 9 and 10 at the time of the alleged offences. Incredibly in 1967 and 68 when Cable was at the height of his powers winning Simpson medals in all three premiership wins against East Perth from 1966-68.
