Never saw him play but I played with his son Shane in school footy and I won an armature premiership with his other son Barry Jn in 1997 on the same day Perth were in a Prelim and I think North were in some sort of final that day too. Barry was always there with his wife (including on that day in 1997 when he may well have been tempted to have a look at the bigger leagues). Putting family first, always sober as were his two sons, always happy to talk or to take a drill or even an odd training session. 

No-one will ever know what went on here. These two may have been family friends and now the families may hate each other and want to cause some misery.  Barry may have promised the girl the world but gave her nothing or indeed Barry may have done what is accused. 

Barry was a young indigenous boy in the big smoke with amazing adulation at the time and it is easy to bring him down. I just think it is far too difficult for anyone who wasn't there to say much at all about his guilt.

Him not turning up to the cvil trial could be a case of saying this is such a load of shit that I have answered questions about on multiple occasions that I won't lower myself to the gutter again. Or it could be that he is running scared, or something else. None of us could possibly know.

this matter is more than her against him. this matter is also the allegation of obstruction and intervention of a high ranking police officer that used his power to shrug things under the carpet. this was reported in the west last monday. we all know who this fellow is. i can say more but i wont, it will come out.

It just keeps getting creepier and creepier what I heard on 9 News tonight from the evidence of the second woman who came forward to give evidence in today’s hearing.

So if he loses this law suit can he be charged? If he can’t then there is no hope for us as this is one of the most despicable crimes. Rock spiders must be eliminated

Now a third woman has come forward and her evidence will be heard on Monday.

This third woman has apparently only come forward in the last 24 hours. Makes you wonder how many others there could be if his name was released earlier.

Heads should roll if this is all true, sadly though, all are old heads who have lived a full life of freedom and for some fame and fortune. This is going to dishearten and destroy a  lot 50 + something footy fans  memories of Cable the person, if he is done for this......just goes to show, you can't judge a book by its cover. Very sad indeed, especially for all those  life's that have been affected/ruined over the last 50 years.

Yes mate.  He can still be charged as there's no statute of limitations on indictable offences such as rape that I'm aware of.  In saying that, the burden of proof jumps from "on the balance of probability" for civil cases to "beyond reasonable doubt" for criminal matters so will be a lot harder to prove if he does get charged.  

More than one victim coming out does provide prosecutors with a pattern of offending but as there's no DNA evidence, or independent witnesses to his offending, it'll pretty much be his word against theirs.
