So Mr Cable has questions to answer….again.  It disappeared out of the news fairly quickly last time, but think this will hang around for a while this time. 

Cable has declared himself bankrupt so even if she wins, not a cent will be paid. Paul Murray revealed his name many years ago on 6pr. The accuser has kept a diary so if she wins will the cops step in.

Maybe it is not about the money, but maybe the fact that her accusations are heard.... fairly.
As 58 said, it was quickly pushed aside previously.

Maybe it’s not about money Winger.  There’s the chance that she feels justice wasn’t done.  Guess we’ll hear all sorts of stuff from both sides…if the press doesn’t suppress the story again.

That is the 64 dollar question! This story about a very prominent wa footballer that was supposedly have done some unsavoury things in the late 60's to the early 70's has been around for donkey's years. The former player was known but not officially published. Makes one wonder why publicly name him now - after all this time. Especially when the media have basically brushed the story under the carpet previously?
I am on the understanding no charges were ever laid.
If something untoward had happened when mentioned person in his younger years, I'm sure charges would have been made back then one would assume.
Or am I missing something?

Yes its funny how the press work isn't it, for some its innocent until proven guilty but for most its the other way around. Wankers!

WAG, it was common knowledge who it was when the issue was first raised. The police did not investigate at the time.
There were allegations of a cover up.
If you read the articles in regards to the issue, you will find out that the laws have changed which has allowed her to pursue the issue and have his name disclosed.
She had pursued the case even though he has said he is bankrupt. She is not at all worried about it.
She wants he day in court and her story told to the public, not shut down with no voice.

Not the press at all. The lady is now having her day in court.

If their is lack of an initial investigation by the police, does that mean no real evidence or incompetency? Could the police be involved somehow given the previous inaction? Is it simply a case of he said/ she said, like the Higgins - Lehrman fiasco!
Maybe the police themselves have questions to answer.
There is something terribly wrong with this story.
If I'd done what said footballer has allegedly done all those years ago, I would have been charged and up before the beak very damn quickly! Not 50 years later!

Sadly whoever has covered this up, is well in to their retirement fund enjoying life or long gone from this world. Sounds like a given, well known and swept under the carpet for many a decade.

DG, the only wankers here are Cable, if guilty and those who help covered it up back in the day....amazing what 3 Sandovers and a few premierships can do for you.....the average Joe would of been hung drawn and quartered. 

Cable is an icon of WA footy, who has no doubt given a lot back to the WA footy community, directly and indirectly, over his life.....not sure what folk will think, if he is found guilty of allegedly doing what he supposedly did....would he lose his Footy Legend status within the AFL,  but also the PFC as well?
