This is the crazy thing DD, people honestly have no I idea what are the rules are in terms of getting in and out of the state/country and then what are the real world implications of these mandates. People are in a constant state of flux.

We are still effectively a hard border, when a good proportion (like 50%) of Australia, including WA, cannot actually enter into the state. Every state and territory Vaxxed and Unvaxxed can enter equally except for us...but hey they are all hillbillies and we are right ;)

Also, when will people realise, like Victoria just did recently, that when internationals start to arrive, so basically now, that they cannot enter restuarant, the zoo, etc...what do people think that will do for the local economy? How will internationals react to that? More so how will locals react when they loosen the requirements to promote tourists but still have mandates for locals?

So international flights are coming in today for the first time since April 2020 including Darwin, but not this backwater for another 10 days.

There's a 70 a day cap anyway, that's a tiny number.
That's only for the unvaxxed and they will need an exemption and need to do 7 days hotel quarantine.  Need to be triple vaxxed to get in here but not sure if he's putting a limit on it, haven't heard of one and they don't have to quarantine.
What is the international arrivals cap?The international arrivals cap is the figure of travellers allowed to arrive in WA each week and is based on the latest health advice. Currently, it is 530 arrivals per week.

That's the lot vaccinated and unvaccinated.

McGoo halved that ages ago but that was just for Australians returning home. That gets scrapped from March 3 I expect.

Yep it's nuts Jake. So we let them in on 2 jabs but they can't go anywhere because they need 3 jabs. You couldn't make this shit up.

Not an apologist for McGoo by any means but he did say at the announcement of the March border opening that he gets back from the court case 2 days before the opening and will be doing 7 days hotel iso. He made a big point about that, so obviously he's listening to his PR guys so he will be seen to be doing the right thing.

More elective cases will now be put off with the ridiculous rule requiring patients to have a PCR test 3 days before their procedure and self isolate from that point until their procedure. Even if their test comes back negative.

Not everyone works for the man. Plenty are self employed and can’t afford 3 unnecessary days off the job.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

It was interesting watching and listening to cafe owners and pubs complaining abt a lack of trade in the CBD and blaming as per the governments decisions. But and yes it is a big one. She made me go to two shopping centres yesterday and wow the cafes there were packed, tables spacing not changed, tagging required. As a trade off we went to the local and had a steak sandwich for lunch and mmm there was the normal crowd size there!

So perhaps the decision regarding the CBD is more abt the changing nature of work, certainly in London where the son works home has become the predominate workplace and I might suggest the same has happened here!

Perhaps the media needs to go to more places other than the ones that want to show decisions in a bad or poor light!

I went out in the city Friday after work and thought the exact opposite, crowds well down out and about, esp it City bars.

In saying that there we went along and there was a massive turn out to the drone show Saturday.

Certainly was interesting. Had to take a day off work last Tuesday, to venture forth to the city centre for half of the day. In that day the whole city centre seemed to be not as busy as normal. And not as much traffic either on one of the main roads out of the city for the long trek out of there.
