That's what worries me DD given he's clearly not a sports fan. I also find it totally ridiculous that I can get on a full train to go to a Dockers or Eagles game at Optus with 30,000 others but can't go and watch my nephews play footy at the local oval under these new restrictions. It's plain lunacy.
He’s an idiot BC, has he EVER seen a WAFL or local junior or ammo game live?

WAG, WAFL grounds come under major stadiums, not community sport.

Given crowd numbers at most WAFL games, a 50% restriction wont affect them.
And how do they intend on policing restrictions at ammo games?  Who do they ask to leave the public spaces when too many people are there?

So has anyone figured out what the new restrictions will mean for the WAFL? Major venues like Optus, RAC Arena etc are restricted to 50% capacity, outdoor events to 500 people, community sport can't have spectators...WAFL grounds are almost in between and not captured by any of the new rules...so stuffed if I know.
Same as last time BC

Half capacity at all WAFL grounds,

Won't have much impact on crowds in other words at bigger grounds, Claremont and Latho might have an issue.

What it will stuff up is the Club bar sales, you have to have seated service, you you wont be able to walk around during or after the game with a drink.

Isn't this just in place whilst WA numbers are spiking? Will it be reviewed at the end of March early April, when hopefully the peak has subsided?....considering the WAFL starts mid April, could be back to  100% by then.

Freeze, he said he expected level 2 to be in place for at least 4 weeks, which is the period expected to see the covid spike come and go according to modelling but given his track record of committing to a timeframe, it's anyones guess. Hopefully we go back to level 1 after 4 weeks and no effect on WAFL. It wont affect going to the footy, but I will miss catching up with mates in the bar at halftime, at least until the restrictions are lifted. Small price to pay as long as we can go and see the footy.

Interesting the WAFL clubs who claimed to be grass roots community based clubs at the WAFC inquiry when Govt funding was at risk, now don’t want to be considered as grass roots community when their revenue might be impacted due to the current stage 2 restrictions, which only allows parents and guardians to attend community sport.

McGowans happy for 30k go to Optus to watch AFL, 50% capacity won’t have any impact on most WAFL games but only parents and guardians can attend junior and amateur sport? What a load of rubbish! If the measures were designed to protect the community surely it would be better to allow a small crowds to attend ovals spread across Perth to watch community sport instead of concentrating 30k people at Optus every week?
