Well for once this minimum entry requirement of 2 + booster jabs is not McGoo's idea, it has come from the so called national cabinet and McGoo has embraced it unlike most of the other Nat cabinet decisions.

I have supported McGoo for most of the pandemic and when I heard the opening was going to be feb 5th I ensured we had our boosters at least 2 weeks before that date to ensure it was at it's maximum protection. We now face a long delay in opening, so my booster jab will be far less effective when he finally relents and opens up. The fact that thousands of WA people have returned and brought omicron with them means it's here and will spread so what's the delay for? Only 4000+ tests in WA on the weekend so people just aren't bothering to get tested which probably means the numbers are way more than we are told, people who may be symptomatic are hopefully staying home or at least being careful but not reporting.  Time to open up, deal with the inevitable case numbers and hopefully get over the peak well before Winter sets in. Hitting the peak in Winter will be a disaster given there will be plenty of good old flue going around as well.

The AMA WA suggests infections could be in their thousands but we don't know about it because they're asymptomatic or very mild so people aren't getting tested. The good thing is that we currently have 500 known cases but if in fact we actually have say 5000, there's no hospitalisations in the state due to Covid so it's not impacting on our overstretched heath system. That's not to say it won't in future, but at the moment it doesn't appear to be as bad as McClown is trying to scare people with in order to justify keeping us locked up.
