We are pretty much already open, 17,000 people rocked up last weekend, and a heap of them have tested positive, I don't reckon its going to make much difference now.

The biggest problem I see here is our terribly low testing rates, hardly anyone is turning up for testing, this crap is out there now but people are complacent.

I see mclown is urging people to stop working from home and to go back to work in the office and support the other businesses in the cbd etc. On the other hand I hear every day an advertising campaign on the radio from mark olsen and the Australian nurses federation union saying the opposite, - work from home, avoid crowds etc to help the nurses. Fkn morons the lot of them, which one is it!

There's been 1616 people died with Covid in NSW which has a population of around 8.18 million which is about 0.02%. If we extrapolate that across to WA with a population of 2.8 million, then we can expect to see somewhere around 550 deaths here some of covid, some with covid, others not vaccinated and a few without boosters. To support that, Professor Milne at UWA has modelled around 380 deaths and he's far more credentialed than I am. We also need to take into account approx. 450 people die every day in Australia and Covid is not in the top 20 causes. So all up, it's certainly not something to get excited about in my opinion.  So McClown...just open up the borders and let's get on with it but have some restrictions in place like masks indoors, social distancing and so on.
BC a lot of those deaths in nsw & vic were from the delta variant, hopefully we don't see that variant here in WA now. I know a few people (jabbed and no jab) over east who have had delta and it can be brutal, certainly not just a cold that one

Well I hope uncle Bob is sitting down but I support McClown on this one but it’s his fear mongering that’s caused the big end of town to tell their staff to work from home so make up your fucking mind McClown. Is omicron the big scary virus you said it was to justify delaying opening the border? Or is it in fact not that bad and it’s safe for workers to go back to their offices? Which one is it Clown 🤡?

As for Olsen he needs to shut his fkn gob and 6PR journos have all compromised themselves in their ability to criticise Mark Olsen since they are all being paid by the WA Nurses Union to advertise his message to tell workers to stay at home. 6PR you are a disgrace.
Get on your bike.

MCCLOWN

has just been further embarrassed, after almost having a walk up chance to host the Comm Games, he shut the idea down, Perth having the best venues in the country has now been outdone by Hobart who have just annouced a bid...

While our venues stand empty....

Shit I am glad the Premier has relaxed the entry rules, we can finally catch up to the rest of the country with positive cases from outside the state running at 3 to one, by this rate we will outstrip the other states with their infected folk all coming here!
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

You can't stop it from coming in Grump but I can't figure out how they're getting in infected if they must have a negative test result just prior to coming to WA.  A couple might slip through but surely not in the hundreds.

You can shove the Commonwealth Games. Spend a heap of taxpayers dough on stuff that will be used for a couple of weeks and then become a liability and attracts stuff all tourists and there's already more than enough tourists in WA without the infrastructure to support them, basically, tourism ruins things as far as I'm concerned.
