That idiot nurse has been charged with fraud, should have the book thrown at her for intentionally endangering peoples lives, and those who sort her out so they could get fraudulent vax certification should also be charged.

Who would of thought staff shortages were responsible for the PCH fiasco.....surely not?....obviously the hospital's ED was brimming with staff before COVID and then everyone just magically disappeared......

That's a common problem mate, Doctors and Nurses are human like any other worker.....vulnerable to burn out, illness, stress etc....sickness is rife, always has been in my years working in ED especially.....a lot of people here don't realise how  a lot of shifts in ED are a bee's dick away  from going seriously pear shaped, day in day out, as seen with that PCH incident.....

Joe Public just see an individual with a uniform when they present to ED, little do they know that uniform maybe at the end of a double shift, 7th shift on the trot, 80th hour of their 40 hour working week, way out of their knowledge depth etc....management is all about ticking boxes, number crunching and simply meeting required numbers on a roster.....who gives a fark the efficacy behind those staff numbers....in a life and death environment that is asking for trouble...worked many shift in WA, UK and NZ thinking how in fark does that staff member work in ED or even allowed to.....no way in hell would I let them look after one of my loved ones.... and if folk think that's a due to COVID border concerns, you are farking kidding yourselves.....but hey as Bazza says only heresay and anecdotal.....no facts to back up sadly.

Freeze I'll take your comments as a professional in the field ahead of anyone elses on this site, hopefully when our lazy WA citizens get off their arses and get vaxed and all borders open up nationally and internationally we can see some sort of improvement in the situation. McGoo has shedloads of money to throw at the problem but is not all that keen to spend it, the idea of a $5 billion surplus gives him a constant hardon, but if no one wants to come to WA it's not an easy problem to solve.

I met a doctor the other day who's wife is also a doctor. He said they are both quitting Australia for Canada to work as doctors. He works for one of the major Perth hospitals.

I quizzed him why, he said when you are working 85 hour weeks it catches up with you. I asked him what makes you think it's going to be any different over there? He said all hospitals in Canada are public hospitals. There are no private hospitals.

So basically he expects to be no worse off financially but working much less hours. Begs the question, do we need to look at Canada's hospital system?

Our governments here have tried very hard to convince people to take out private hospital cover therefore trying to push hospital care to the private sector and off their hands. Sounds like our pollies need to stop penny pinching the health care sector.

That same doctor Freezin said the triage nurse in that case assessed her as low priority at the first assessment. He said there was a flaw in the assessment process where they assessed kids the same as adults which is wrong. He said for children it needs to be more bespoke which he said it was at PMH but for some reason they changed it at PCH. He said he believes there has been changes since. So sounds like poor decisions at the top end.

interesting, Im sick to death of having this argument with people telling me our medicare system is the best in the world.

as far as Im concerned its a complete cluster, there are far better systems around the world, we are spending billions each year propping up provate health insurance insdusrty via subsbidies in tax rebates, and people are leaving it due to crap service, gaps, and/or not using it.

Its time to cut it lose and pump the money into the public system, people are voting with their feet, they dont want private health they want a good public system.

DD, TBH mate sounds like if that girl had been triaged a higher acuity 2 or 3, she still may of waited, due to the fact if there are other triage 2's & 3's who arrived before her, they will be seen first. Paediatrics deteriorate much faster then adults, as the body's ability to compensate is far less in little uns....meaning they tire much faster.....I guess regular 30 min reviews in the triage waiting room were required.....easy to say if you are getting slammed with loads of patients presenting for triage......be interested to know the triage nurses level of experience etc.....three doctors down doesn't help, because end of the day you go to ED to see the Dr not the nurse.....

Now McClown has kicked an own goal yet again, saying how sport lifts morale in his defence on why he’s prepared to create a different set of rules for cricketers to families separated by the border. So families being united doesn’t lift morale? You FUCKWIT, what an absolute tosser.

If only we had a half decent opposition surely they’d just have to turn up to knock these out of touch flogs out of office?
