While Bond is entitled to his opinion, his reference to the 2 cases at the Cup and that he's concerned the vaccine is not working is to say the least, ill informed. All along the experts in the health sector have said that the vaccines main task is to keep people out of hospital. The vaccinated can still get the virus but at a significantly lower level so it is more like a dose of the flu and can be coped with in home iso, rather than in ICU on respirators tieing up huge chunks of the health systems capacity, which in WA is already severely compromised, it also significantly reduces the ability of the virus to be transferred. So the key is to get as many vaxed as possible as quickly as possible and one way to do that is to state that we will open up at 80% and yes, the virus will come in but the ones that should be shaking in their boots are the unvaxed who, by their own unfounded fears and acceptance of gross miss information will suffer the consequences and they will be self inflicted consequences.

Many businesses I deal with are desperate for staff, the only way to start to address that is to open up to Australian and overseas travellers who can prove they are fully vaxed. We need to take the step to the next stage of this pandemic and that is to learn to live with it, coz it aint going away anytime soon.

SS what your informed comments points out is the reliance we have on back packers, refugee labour and the itinerant other staters for our workers especially in the hospitality and seasonal workers. (heaven forbid the unemployed west aussies would do the jobs).

I will state again all I want is for folk that are double vax'd to be given the freedom to come and go from WA with the necessary tests and clearances in place. 

I get where Bondy is coming from, lots of people are dying that are double jabbed. Unfortunately the ones that will cop it when things open up will be people with underlying health issues, jabbed or not. I don't have an answer to this other than the majority of them should have looked after themselves better throughout their lives, barring the folk with genetic illness of course

Your last sentence is on the money Grump which is why I want McClown to set a date and stand by it. If others choose not to get vaccinated by that date then they can suffer the consequences.

We do rely on them big time Grump. But now all we have is a bunch of greedy entitled losers with threats of not coming in to work tomorrow unless you pay me more

McGowan has been exposed again on Ten news tonight with an infectious disease expert calling his modelling that the difference between 80% and 90% fully vaxed will result in an extra 200 deaths as simplistic and not been proven true but rather an extreme outcome.

He’s a one trick pony that uses fear to hide his political failings.

I do feel for people that have lost a huge part of their income and I guess I would be as angry as the next person.  Just another reason for us all to buy local product as much as we can - I know I do.  While it has been a hard grind for many businesses such as yours, try to get a tradie to do smaller jobs on your house.  Still, good luck to them all…hope their wheels keep turning.  I won’t touch your last comment__________

I came to the conclusion on the weekend that McClowns plan is to set an unreasonable target, knowing full well it will fail and also that it wont stand up to a High Court Challenge - sit back wait for the airlines to take it to the High Court, lose and then he can sit back blame them and say well at least I tried.
