So it’s my fault that the premier and the health minister couldn’t organise hotel quarantine security issues ?
They stuffed up which then shut down the state, you are aware of that ?
Is their plan every time someone tests positive due to their mistake ?
Should be good for all the businesses that are affected every time

To the best of my knowledge there haven't been any other issues regarding security guards manning quarantine shelters, but you appear to be zealously waiting in anticipation for something to go amiss so would you be happy if MCgowan sacked Cook and then stepped down as State premier which would give your boy a Zak Kirkup a fighting chance to be the next premier???

Do you miss the story of the lady that walked out and did a tour of Perth one afternoon?

I tell you what M.O.i will take a bi partisan approach and i will jointly condemn MCGowan and Cook with you if there are any repeat security guard infections as i have no political affiliations whatsoever.

I’m in the critical age bracket with a medical problem. Therefore I fully support the action taken. Sure, it’s inconvenient going into lockdown, but if it’s the difference between my wife and seeing our grandkids growing or the bleak alternative, then it’s a no contest. Yes, I understand that small business is hurting. Everyone knows we are faced with a disease that we basically know nothing of or it’s history, past a year. Not a disease to take lightly.
I have to laugh at people whinging about wearing masks. In over 30 years in the mining industry, we wore every kind of personal protection whether it was 20 degrees or 42. No complaints, it was compulsory.
Come Election Day, I’ll be scouting the ballot paper and looking for a saviour....MO comes to mind.

Imagine if there HAD been community transition and he’d chosen not to do a lockdown and it spread everywhere, what position would small businesses be in then? He’d be lynched. He doesn’t have a crystal ball. With the partisan nature of politics (especially on ozfooty) you’re damned if you do damned if you don’t. Lose lose.
It’s time for a federal approach to quarantine because it appears Covid is hanging around the world for a while yet.

A 5 day lockdown is not going to stop community transmission if any other person who might have the virus is asymptomatic ToOl. Serve your 5 days, go back into the community and potentially be a super spreader whilst 80% of the state's population including small business owners have been locked inside for nothing.

Correct BC but surely a 5 day lock down limits the spread massively and buys some time to make plans moving forward. What's your opinion, zero lock down and just roll with it and see what happens? Ideally we'd have a four week lock down but that's just not an option

Isolate case 903 and all his close contacts for 14 days. Advertise the places he visited as McGoo and Crook did, and urge anyone who was at those places at the same time to get tested and isolate until the results come back. Let the rest of the metro area get on with life. By the time we all went into lockdown which was a couple days after the event, potential infected people could have spread across the state anyway so locking down 2.2 million people is plain nonsense. As I said earlier, McGoo did very well in the early stages but now I think he's got his eye firmly on the election and is making decisions accordingly which won't change the outcome but could impact on the size of the victory.

Correct GTRX its a very simple game plan we are adhering too which is minimizing the spread of infections till we all get vaccinated which is hopefully just around the corner, and my biggest concern is the efficacy of the Pommy vaccine which is rated around the 60% mark which is a bit of a worry.

RL I think that's why there looking at an alternative booster shot..60% not good enough imo..We will have this disease for another decade.

Royal it's about 68% after the initial jab and better after the follow up. Need to remember that the annual flu jab is on average barely better than 50%, so 68% seems pretty reasonable. I see that ScoMo has contracted fan additional 10 million more Pfizer jabs on top of the original 10 mill so thats another 5 million of us that can get that one, roughly
40% of the population can get the 90+% vaccine, which will just about cover all the frontline workers those in aged care and the over 65's like me.
