Scorchers had the cricket Gods on their side tonight, but how good is Ash Turner?  Must be one of the premier 20/20 players around.

You can't fault the Scorchers resilience and will to win. The squad has been tested depth wise, yet here they are in another final. Hopefully they can go all the way, certainly deserve it if they do.

I am not a cricket follower or even normally a watcher of the game but I must admit over the past couple of the years I have started to watch both the women's and men's BBL. It was a bit annoying that other teams get to play their so-called star test players, but the Scorchers could not play Agar, would he have made a difference, not sure!

The difference for me abt the scorchers is that they're much more of a team and it shows in how they go abt the game.

Turner and the Bunnings boy both in the past couple of games have just stared in the batting.

Well done to the whole team!
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

I don't think the gods were on our side at all, just a team that never say die.
Scorchers dropped three which should have been taken. One the the best batsman in world cricket,  yet still gobbled him up cheaply. Turning point I think.
Henriwues dropped in the gully , one that should have been taken.
If Ashton Turner is not the best player and skipper in the country, I will go he for chasey.
A brilliant innings under pressure, or so we were told. What pressure. He and Banfield are the pressure for dinner, and still wanted more.
Still one to go and again at the new cauldron. 41+ thousand lad t night, maybe 45/50 next week.
Well played Scorchers.
I watched the game on Kayo/Fox, horrid horrid commentary from Gilchrist and Waugh. I get the feeling that the NSW upbringing is surfacing in Gilly .
The stupidity of Fox to continue with the charade of trying to make us believe they are/were at Perth Stadium last night defies belief.
At least Kath Loughnan never wavered in he support for the Scorchers.

Only 4 batsmen really came to terms with that pitch. Many of the players seemed a bit freaked out by the occasion thus the uncharacteristic fielding lapses, the worst of which was that catch that none of the Sixers went for. The Scorchers opening bowlers were perfect in the way they bowled to Smith. He only faced about 7 or 8 balls in the power play and was never allowed to get into any sort of rhythm. Even though the Scorchers dropped some easy  catches, they also pulled off some very difficult ones (e.g Hardie). They lost the momentum for a few overs while Henriques and Silk were going full bore, but they kept fighting and from 3- 130 the Sixers lost 5-21 and I thought they were about 15 runs under par at the half way stage.

When the Scorchers were 3- 23 in reply, I wasn't so sure but I was very surprised that Henriques didn't give Abbott another over in the first six as he was rampant with figures of 3- 8 off 2 overs at that stage and if he could have removed Turner early who knows what might have happened? Turner is a devastating 20/20 batsman and I would pencil him in for the next world cup.

I think the Sixers will be back next Saturday to have another go, but they won't have Smith of course. The Scorchers still wouldn't want to underestimate them though as they will be desperate to make up for what was a pretty poor performance last night

Mike there is no way known that the Scorchers would take the Sixers lightly. They know that they have the same mind set as themselves.
When the Sixers were losing wickets, according to the commentators,  the wicket was sticky, two paced, etc, etc, etc. Once Henriques and Silk settled it was a good wicket.
Mark Waugh drives me mad.

Both side had some horrific catching lapses, Smith's put down looked critical but didn't have an impact, Enriques drop meant we were chasing 151 instead of around 120. The 6'ers drops also had a massive impact but Turner and Bancroft are top shelf players. Bancroft has the ability to change gears as required. he was happy to farm the strike with numerous singles to give Turner the opportunity to tear 6'ers a new arsehole and he didn't let us done.

A great afternoon/evening. The crowd was terrific and I'm not sure what the noise was like in the middle but up in the stands it was deafening. I felt as though we would lose if either Bancroft or Turner got out cheaply as there's not much to come batting-wise after them.  Turner was majestic from the time he strode to the crease he was just a class above.  Bangers provided good support as wickets fell around him which was necessary to stay in touch of the run rate.

The final is going to be interesting as our bowlers weren't totally convincing with Tye getting some tap as he did last week against Aaron Finch and Morris expensive as well. Does Kelly come in for Morris? I'm not sure but I also hope Inglis, Hardie and Eskinazi make some runs next week as we could get rolled if the top order misfires again and it's left to the bowlers.

So Brisbane Heat go on to play the 6ers.  Do they get to keep Kawaja and Labushaggers for the next game?  Surely not?

No they don't.  Uzzie, Marnus and Renshaw all off to India Tuesday I think.
A bit of a sham by CA I think.
