Big Bash XII started on Tuesday night.Three games have been completed of the 61'matches.
Thunder and Stars in Canberra,Adelaide and Sixes in Adelaide,Heat and Renegades up in Cairns.
Crowds have been solid with sellouts in Canberra,Cazaly Stadium and 17,000 at Adelaide Oval.
The bonus points system has been removed this season.Powerplay is still 4 overs.1+2 and between 11+20.
Most imports are from the UK, Afghanistan, Pakistan and currently some Kiwi International players.
Most of the English WC winning side started the professional careers in the BBL.
Scorchers start to there season has not been perfect. With our International import failing a drug test.We have bought in a seasoned RSA import,Faf Du Plesses..Our season kicks of at home Saturday night.

Sydney Thunder were bowled out for 15 in 35 balls tonight. Lowest ever score in a major 20/20 match apparently.
Perth Scorchers will struggle this year IMO.  Faf Du Plessis is only available for half the season and the batting looks fragile without Mitch Marsh

caught the last 10 minutes or so of the "game" - during that time I think it was either 6 or 7 wickets that fell
reminded me of the old primary school games on the oval where you'd be lucky to see any kid get to 10 runs
I've seen Australia get rolled for 48 against SA , and again for 63 against England and saw Scotty Boland run through England last year at the MCG
But I haven't seen anything remotely like last night in first class grade cricket
Even sundries couldn't get their poo together
How the frick does a side get shovelled up in just 5.5 overs / 35 balls ????

Great to see Jhye Richardson firing and taking wickets. Good start by the scorchers, the batting is the main concern. Hardie and Agar rescued them last night when they were 5 for 48.

A see saw momentum game in Launceston. Both sides had there periods of domince
.With four overs left we required 32 runs..9/10 you should chase that down in BBL.The Hurricanes bowled out really well.
As Mike said previous, Scorchers have batting problems without Mitch Marsh in the lineup.

GTR Perth have essentially been 2 batsman short in their 2 games so far.
1) They have 2 bowling all rounders in Hardie & Agar coming in at 6 & 7 respectively and then a long tail following them.
2) Hobson batting at 3 is head scratching to say the least, not even sure how he is in the team ahead of Bancroft let alone at 3.

They had that game last night on toast until Ingliss decided to try to hit that mystery spinner out of the ground, got caught on the boundary and exposed the tail.

Also thought it was pretty poor form from Wade again

As well as Marsh, the Scorchers have lost Patterson and Munro from last years batting line up. Du Plessis and Lyth are only there for half the season as I understand, so the Scorchers will struggle to get any more than 150-160 with what they have currently got. Puts a lot of pressure on the bowling group to defend low scores, which they did against the Sixers but won't be able to do every time.  Bancroft should be in the team and I would probably open with him.  Cam Green should also be available at the back end when the tests are over.
As for Wade, nothing he does really surprises me.

Somehow the Scorchers are winning games, even though their batting has only fired once ( albeit in a big way)
The bowling group is holding things together but you would think that the collapses would come back and bite them at some stage.
Their luck is totally out this season with Laurie Evans failing the drug test, Mitch Marsh injured for the whole season, Phil Salt the same, Tymal Mills having to go home for family reasons and now Cam Green with a broken finger.  There is also talk about Agar and/or Hardie being drafted into the test squad as cover.
Making finals will be a real achievement for them this year.
