Mitch Marsh said the other day he is targeting a one day game for WA on Feb 26 as his comeback. WA are already assured of a final spot in that competition. Shaun Marsh may struggle to get back into the shield team, the way that they have been going.

Hey isnt the Esky a POM?

while we had some brain farts with the batters i think we lost the game in the last ball of our bowling innings - If that went for 1 we would have had a different result
He was born in South Africa and moved to WA when he was a toddler PH.
Did his schooling at Christ Church Grammar and later UWA.
He came through the Claremont-Nedlands Cricket Club system.
Has played in English County Cricket for Middlesex due to his English born mother.

Thanks BH, that's made me more confused - he is classed as an international replacement even though he has played previously in the WA system.

Heard him speak last night on the TV, based on his accent I would say he spends a lot more time in the UK than Australia.

I noticed after the game finished last night all of the Claremont-Nedlands boys in both the Scorchers & Hurricanes had a photo together on the ground- Steve Eskinazi, Matt Kelly, Nick Hobson from Perth and Tim David & Joel Paris from Hobart and not forgetting PS bowling coach Tim McDonald and batting coach Wes Robinson who were also there.

Gee Hardie is looking like a quality player at every chance he gets to bat . A natural number 3 by the alooks.
He and Inglis have a certain way of creating partnerships.
A very good performance last night.

I reckon Hardie will play white ball cricket for Australia in the not too distant future. He is also a very good long form player as he demonstrated in the Sheffield Shield final last year. WA is blessed to have two classy all rounders in Hardie and Green.

I agree with Hardie In fact I reckon he could open in T20 cricket next year alongside Bancroft, which would allow M Marsh to slot in at 3 and Cam Green after test duties to bat 6 and bowl a bit. If need be, you could rotate them both through those roles.

Id like to see Cooper Connolly get some more game time next year.

Whats probably the biggest hint to all sides is WA and the pink NSW side don't have international players - they are home grown talent - and they are the successful franchises.

I read earlier about chasing David next year - I would chase no one i would keep the money in the squad to keep it together.

PH there's also talk that the Stars+Stoinis might end there arrangement. He has one year left on his contact and the Stars might pay him out.
Stoin will be looking for a new club. With a lot of BBL interest.

Some dopey Eastern States franchise will probably pick Stoinis up but hopefully Perth steer well clear of him.
Its no coincidence that most of the success of WA sides in all formats of late have not had the likes of Stoinis playing.
At the end of the day he cant even get a regular game for the perennial underachievers and cellar dwellers Melbourne "Stars" lol.
