However, now is the time where we all have to provide a united approach. Without a united approach as LaH has pointed out it will be the end of the WAFL. If anyone would like an email address for someone who works in the WAFC if people would like to email that person.

It may take a couple of days before those emails are read 42 as I suspect a few of them were working at the Guns n Roses concert last night!

Could you please explain your last comment?

Draft money will go to the "TAC cup teams" rather than WAFL clubs. Affiliation of kids with WAFL clubs will be nonexistant

The AFL was always concerned with the imbalance of the colts comp.....now action has been taken.

Enjoy the last few years of the WAFL as we know it

Imbalance of the colts comp?

They want the best v the best...no lopided contests. My guess will be that a "Colts" comp will run underneath but your best players will be in the TAC squads and will drop down when not required

Surely all WAFL clubs and the WAFC will not accept that. I delusionally mentioned the WAFC.

As much as I hate it...its a done deal

I'm getting on in years mate...I'm just going to enjoy the last few years of WAFL as we know it...at least we got to see the best

That's about the way I see it as well ...tbh.

I still don't know where the $$$ is/would come from to keep this kind of a setup running - and where are the games to be played & when?
And the travel? - what rational explanation could there be for sending children to Melbourne or further each week for some corporation's TV rights deal?
We are seeing the stark realistic truth about this Victorian based operation with the numbers of shattered footballers discarded each year , some way too young to have been exposed to it in the first place, jesus most of these guys aren't anywhere near 25 let alone 30yo

There's a more than adequate structure in place - the Teal Cup , National U18's comp or whatever you want to call it , this is where to invest

Southy the AFL have based their whole football development pathway on the American sports set up (College sport-TAC Cup, drafts, salary cap etc) but what they dont realise or dont really care is that once these athletes finish college in their early 20s and dont get drafted into either the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL etc there is no where really for them to play in the USA and they end up heading overseas to play and or giving up their sports to pursue a career etc so all done and dusted and washed up by 22yo.
Some athletes actually develop later than others both physically and mentally and yet they would be all washed up in the US & the AFL would like that here as well.
Absolutely daft stuff imo!

Plenty of cash still floating around, although they recorded a big loss last year, the price of the Gold Coast GWS and Womens League starting to hit, and now they will have to bail Brisbane out AGAIN. The game is just not taking in NSW or Qld so the money will have to be pumped in year after year, More media deals that's the main source.

Not only that - I think you will find that the grassroots coin that was set aside went to AFL Victoria , and that was months ago

And the other thing is - if it's such an imperative , why haven't SANFL jumped at it ? They're closer to the big smoke

Smarter operators mate, will sit back for a while, SANFL a lot more power than WAFL always have had, those jokers are a bit more cashed up.
