Smell the coffee geez there's something entirely different in that cup over there

U mean a comp that would consider all stakeholders? Wow how good would that be. All tiers sitting around the table nutting out a solution that benefits everyone?

Probably never going to happen because of similar attitudes to yours that are deep within wafl clubs.

I can guarantee one thing that would come out of it. The giant prawning net that rips thru the junior clubs would become a hell of a lot smaller.

You didn't comment on my comparing the costs you are alleging are required to be paid with what a parent would be required to pay to get private tennis coaching lessons for their that would be well in excess of $1,000 per year when taking into account restrings, tournament fees, club fees etc.

So squad of 50, $50,000 per year, volunteer coaches with no real specialist expertise in coaching football.

Yeah , money well spent.

Go look at who coaches in the TAC cup and compare it to wafl colts, it's a real eye opener. Most of the coaches would be walk up starts to wafl league.

As I suspected you can't name one single club.

Who funds the TAC Cup, and if a similar thing happened here, where would the money come from? I'd assume the WAFL clubs would lose the development handout they currently get - but would that be enough to run an independent colts comp?

I agree, the WAFL clubs need to make a deal with the WAFC to ensure the continuance of the colts as is, however I wonder if the AFL and/or Eagles & Dockers have too much say in this.

What you are advocating is a meat market that spits out the ones that don't make the grade. As a matter of interest what would be the drop-out rate of players exiting the "TAC cup system"? Also, what is the impact of players going from their local junior club to the TAC cup team? Would it be so bad as to cause the original junior club's team to fold due to lack of numbers.

By the way which WAFL club do you support?

No, I can not be f#$ked doing the research. I know what I am saying is a factor. U have only had 24 hours since u were introduced to the district model that has been operating for a considerable period.

17s teams folding is a massive problem across the metro area. 16s is not an issue.

What you asserted was that junior clubs' teams had folded because of their players commitment to WAFL colts. Sure I was wrong about the change in the junior councils. Unfortunately, for you the fact that the WAFC has control over all the junior competitions, INCLUDING AT THE MOMENT, the WAFL colts' competition weakens not strengthen your assertion. If the WAFC have had direct control over junior footy for quote "a considerable period" how is that reconcilable with your assertion that junior clubs and/or teams are folding all over the place?

Here is a thought for you: could it be that at that age a number of those players drop out to get part-time jobs that preclude them from playing junior footy on the week ends?
