It's all part of the haggling process. I don't like it but I suspect there's a lot of testosterone flying around in this. I'm sure if Fremantle said if we get picks 5 and 18 from Brisbane we will happily pass them on for Jesse then Melbourne would entertain it and it would probably frustrate Jesse if Melbourne didn't take it. They're all acting like wankers if you ask me.

Whole systems up the shit, should piss it off and go back to clearance fees like the EPL et al

Apparently Melbourne would have accepted picks 5 and 23 for Hogan but Freo weren't interested in that offer. The original in principle agreement was pick 6 but Freo exchanged it with PA. Melbourne were going to use it to land Steven May from GC and that has now gone pear shaped as well as a result. I can see this ending in tears all round.

Reckon the deal will get done.....lots of ego bullshit going on here.....Brisbane simply need to come up with what Freo wants for Neale, then Freo will keep Melbourne happy with what they want for Hogan, who out of all this want May from GC.....geez all this aggro for Stephen May?.....plenty of time for folk to get what they want.....

I'm not sure it will Freez. Whichever early pick Freo gets for Neale say Brissy's pick 5 would probably be used to get Lobb. I think the swapping of pick 6 with PA's was the move that took Hogan out of the equation as Melbourne were never going to accept pick 11 for him....surely Bell and Rosich must have known that. Were they trying to pull a swifty and get Hogan on the cheap I wonder?

If Freo don't land Hogan it will be one of the monumental trade fuckups in history. Genuine power forwards like Hogan do not come around very often. For 20 years Freo have tried to get in a genuine Full forward. Lobb is not comparable to Hogan.
In my opinion to Freo Hogan is easily worth 2 early first picks.
They are desperate for a full forward and are staring down the barrel of going another 20 years without a power forward.

Complete idiots..

The other thing is that if Hogan stays in Melbourne for 2019 and still wants to come back to Perth at the end of it he then goes onto WCE's radar as Josh Kennedy will be 32 next year and Hogan will be 24 and in his prime. Very short sighted by Freo for mine.

Absolutely on the money tuggers. How many times have they tried to land a key forward over the last few years without success and here they are on the verge of getting some quality and they stuff it up. It may turn out alright in the end who knows, but as it stands right at this minute I can't see how.

Bennell has been getting paid more than him, he's upset he wants out. Take pick 5 and use it to get Hogan.
Trading Neale is the only way to get a player they have been craving for 20 years. Booting Neale opens up the midfield to the young players alongside Fyfe.
