just pick 5 I think DD...and considering Freo got pick 2 for Weller last year reckon Brissy will need to up it considerably....but it's my understanding they don't have any additional first round picks to offer up.

They've got pick 18 BC. Freo want both. We are talking about a player that has won 2 of the last 3 Doig medals and runner up in the other.

There you have it...Freo out of the Hogan trade...I wonder if it's just a ploy to see if Melbourne will back off a bit with their requirement for 2 first round picks.

Might pull a McCarthy stunt and have a year out for "stress" ....worked well the other way!

Bell and Rosich appear to be out of their depth IMO. Other clubs seem to be able to get things done and so far, despite all the talk only Conca is moving. There's still plenty of time I know but I would have thought Neale, Lobb and Hogan would have been done and dusted by now given they've all stated their intentions and preferences. I wonder of Brad Lloyd and Chris Bond would have done things a bit differently?....I guess we'll never know.

Agree mate, have a look at the deals that have been wrapped up , around the corner at WCE and that days ago.

I think one of the key differences is Hogan is happy to stay put if no decent deal, Neal on the other hand wants out.

McCarthy certaintly had a year off & did him wonders when he tried to play the following year

It's all part of the haggling process. I don't like it but I suspect there's a lot of testosterone flying around in this. I'm sure if Fremantle said if we get picks 5 and 18 from Brisbane we will happily pass them on for Jesse then Melbourne would entertain it and it would probably frustrate Jesse if Melbourne didn't take it. They're all acting like wankers if you ask me.

Brisbane and Neale are the ones trying to break a contract, like anything else in life if you want to break a contract you have to accept it may not end how you want it to..

Exactly right, this is another one where if Fremantle don't get the world they have failed and if they do give in to him they have also failed.

Fact is he is probably worth more next year as a compensation pick as a restricted player than what Brisbane are currently offering so maybe Brisbane and Neale are the ones who need to suck it up.
