A good move I think. He could have been very handy for sure.
But he has led us up the garden path for three years now.
Will I, Wont I, I am not sure.....

I don’t think that’s true at all.
Melbourne up till this point in previous years have been unwilling to let him go.
I think unholytugboat summed it up best in his previous post re Freo failure to lure a power forward.

I agree Bazza puts the Eagles well and truely in the frame for 2020 to chase Hogan.

Internally the decision makers at Freo lack the nuts to get the job done. Someone needs to put there hand up, go out on a limb and pay what it takes to get the most scarce commodity in AFL.

Missing Hogan is a disaster for Freo.

Sure, but as you have put it sounds like what Freo were hoping for.

Problem is, as put, neither Melbourne or GWS would accept those trades. However, it appears Fremantle should just bend over and take whatever is on offer.

The people least in Fremantle's corner on all topics, all year round, are the same ones who would berate them for not seeking the appropriate compensation from Brisbane for releasing Neale whilst he is under contract.

They are the same who would not acknowledge the metal of Fremantle holding out for pick 2 for Weller last year, it seems some think they should just fold quicker than superman on laundry day so they can then have a crack at them for it.

By the way Hogan is not actually the be all and end all, it is not as if West Coast are emerging to take Fremantles place seeings he is so keen to come back to WA.

So why is that? Perhaps they are keeping powder dry for a run next week, who knows.

Hating a football club and rationalising decisions on trades are two different things, and when all you opinions are negative on one then you lose objectivity on the other.

Why is everyone pointing the finger at Freo for the Hogan non trade?...Don't see folk pointing the finger at Brisbane for not offering Freo what Freo think Neale is worth....why should Freo offer Melbourne what Melbourne think Hogan is worth?....Neale is a two time F&B, regular top ten comp possession accumulator.....injury free and in his prime.....Hogan is potentially a Coleman Medallist with a dodgy foot.....if Brisbane coughed up what Freo wanted for Neale, the Hogan trade would if been done and dusted....not sure why folk think Freo have lost the plot or being unreasonable here....Reckon Brisbane and Melbourne are just as much to blame for their actions as well

It's not just about Hogan, if Freo don't land Hogan - mcarthy and tabbener will be out of the AFL system in 2 years time.

No but Freo aren't being realistic on what would get Hogan over the line. GC got pick 3 as compensation for Lynch. Surely that would give an indication on what Hogan may be worth....probably not a pick 3 but better than a pick 11. A good deal is where both parties come away disappointed but with this one, Freo has missed out on a key forward which they've been trying to get for some time because of unrealistic trade offers.

Of course, its Fremantle not being realistic. But of course Brisbane is not in there ask for Neale, like you said a good deal is where both parties come away disappointed. In this case there is more than one party or two, not just Melbourne and Fremantle in this one. There are plenty of others and there is no reason why Fremantle should be the whipping boys for a whole host of trade deals - just so the usual Fremantle haters can have another excuse to bang on about how much they don't like them.
Why don't Brisbane just cough up what Neale is worth and then it may all get sorted.
